With over 8 years of experience in the industry, I've honed my craft and built a stellar reputation for excellence. I've had the privilege of working with artists across diverse genres, from Pop chart-toppers to R&B sensations and Hip-Hop trailblazers.
As a producer, my goal is to make each song sound its best. Everything I do—whether it’s choosing sounds, arranging music, or adding instruments—is meant to help the song shine and show off the artist’s talent. If the production sounds great but doesn’t fit the song, then I haven’t done my job properly.
I’m skilled at taking a basic guitar or piano and vocal demo and turning it into a complete, polished song. I’ve worked with and learned from top professionals in the music industry, and I use that experience to improve every new project.
When it comes to mixing, my focus is the same: the song comes first. I aim to create a mix that brings out the best in the song, making sure it sounds strong and clear while staying true to its original feel.

Interview with Liam Owen
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One project I’m particularly proud of is BYD launch jingle, where I served as the lead producer and mix engineer. This project was special because it involved a complex blend of genres and required innovative production techniques. Working closely with artists to capture their unique sound and then meticulously crafting the mix to highlight the emotional depth of the music was incredibly rewarding. The positive response from both artists and their audience validated the effort and creativity invested in the project.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently, I’m working on a diverse range of projects, including an upcoming pop album, a series of hip-hop singles, and a few film score pieces. Each project presents its own set of challenges and opportunities, and I’m excited about the creative direction they’re all taking.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Unfortunately, I don't know bunch of people on Soundbetter yet, but i'm updating this answer very soon hahaha
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I embrace both analog and digital tools, as each has its strengths. Analog gear often provides warmth and character that can add depth to a track, while digital tools offer flexibility, precision, and a wide array of creative possibilities. My studio setup combines the best of both worlds to achieve a balanced and polished sound.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to clients is to deliver a product that not only meets but exceeds their expectations. I commit to understanding their vision, providing expert guidance throughout the process, and ensuring that each track is crafted with the utmost care and precision. Your music deserves to be heard at its best, and I’m dedicated to making that happen.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I love most about my job is the opportunity to collaborate with diverse artists and bring their unique visions to life. Each project is a new challenge and a chance to explore different musical landscapes. I thrive on the creativity and problem-solving aspects of production, and there's nothing quite like the satisfaction of hearing a song come together and resonate with listeners.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Customers often ask about the difference between mixing and mastering. I explain that mixing involves balancing and refining individual elements within a track, while mastering is about preparing the final mix for distribution, ensuring it sounds great on all playback systems. Both processes are crucial for a polished final product.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: A common misconception is that production is just about making a song sound polished. In reality, it's a collaborative process that involves a deep understanding of the artist's vision, creative problem-solving, and technical expertise.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask about their vision for the project, the sound they’re aiming for, and their previous experiences with production. Understanding their goals, influences, and any specific requirements helps me tailor my approach to best meet their needs.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone whose style and approach align with your vision. Communication is key—make sure you can articulate your goals and expectations clearly. It’s also important to review previous work to ensure the provider’s experience matches the sound you’re aiming for.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I’d take a high-quality audio interface, a versatile microphone, a pair of reference headphones, a laptop with a DAW, and a MIDI controller. These essentials would allow me to record, produce, and mix music even in the most remote locations.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out as a hobbyist, recording and mixing tracks for friends. Over the years, I honed my skills through formal education and real-world experience. I’ve been working professionally as a music producer and audio engineer for 8 years, and during this time, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of talented artists.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is a fusion of technical expertise and artistic creativity. I aim to bring out the best in every song while incorporating unique elements that make each track stand out. My approach is detail-oriented, ensuring that every part of the song contributes to its overall impact.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with Billie Eilish. Her innovative approach to music production and her ability to push boundaries aligns perfectly with my own creative values. Collaborating with her would be an exciting challenge and a chance to explore new sonic territories.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: One key tip is to focus on the arrangement early on. A well-structured song can make a huge difference in how it feels and connects with listeners. Spend time experimenting with different arrangements to find the one that best serves the song.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work across a diverse range of genres, including pop, hip-hop, and electronic. My versatility allows me to adapt to different styles and find the right approach for each project, whether it’s a high-energy anthem or a subtle, introspective track.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is my ability to blend technical precision with creative insight. I excel at translating an artist’s vision into a polished, professional sound, all while ensuring that the track remains engaging and true to its original spirit.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a fresh perspective and technical expertise to each song. I aim to enhance the core of the track while preserving the artist's original intent. My role is to make sure every element of the song shines and works together harmoniously, creating a compelling listening experience.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process starts with understanding the artist’s vision and the song's needs. I then move into recording, focusing on capturing the best performance. After that, I dive into mixing, where I balance the elements and add depth. Finally, I master the track to ensure it sounds polished and cohesive across all listening environments.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is a blend of cutting-edge technology and classic analog gear. I work with high-end digital converters, a collection of vintage microphones, and a versatile selection of outboard gear. My control room is acoustically treated to ensure precise monitoring, and I use a combination of industry-standard DAWs and plugins to achieve the best results.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I draw inspiration from a variety of musicians and producers, including Rick Rubin for his minimalist approach, Max Martin for his unparalleled knack for pop hooks, and Sylvia Massey for her innovative techniques. Each brings a unique perspective that enriches my own creative process and keeps me constantly evolving.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I often work on shaping and polishing tracks to their fullest potential, whether it's recording, mixing, or mastering. My clients range from emerging artists looking for their first professional sound to established musicians who need a fresh perspective on their latest project. My goal is to elevate their vision into a final product that resonates with their audience.
