Interview with Swan
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm going to talk about my first personal album, I worked on it for 7 months as a sound engineer, guitarist, bassist and drummer, it wasn't easy but I really like the result and I had a lot of excellent feedback. I can't wait to release the sequel!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on my next EP
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: nan I've just arrived on the platform and I don't know anyone, sorry.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I work in digital because I'm still a young and I don't really have the means to buy analog products, but if one day I have the opportunity to buy them and work with them, I won't hesitate.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: do everything I can to improve their project!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Make and upgrade music, and happy customers who tell me I've done a good job, it's satisfying when everyone's happy.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: It's often questions like "can you slow down this part", "can you turn down the sub bass at this point", "can you turn down the guitars to 3.25?", etc. It's often practical questions to perfect their project, it rarely happens that I can't answer a customer's request.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'd say that most people who don't know much about it think that being a sound engineer is reserved for people with a lot of money and who have done a lot of studies and a big studio, but today technology and the new means that are available to us can allow us to have results that are just as good or even better than a studio mix but with just a pc and some pleugins, obviously it takes just as much work, patience and passion.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I often ask them if they have any references, otherwise, in most cases, it depends on the customer and what he wants.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: make sure that the service provider corresponds to the project you want to build with him, the same musical genre, the sound you want, etc ...
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: my computer, my guitar, my sound card, my bass, my headphones (basics)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I don't have a diploma but I've been working every day for exactly one year.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Progressive Metal, Djent
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I compose a lot and work a lot with my compositions, which allows me to perfect my skills while being productive.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: track balancing, for me this is the most important thing, it's the basis and one of the first things to do and do again throughout the mix.

A: Metal, rock, punk, progressive metal, djentMetal, rock, punk, progressive metal, djent
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: mixing guitars I think, I'm a guitarist and it's the instrument I've worked on the most.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: clearer, more colourful sound overall, a better-working stereo, better listening to each element, an output level adapted to the streaming platform, etc ...
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: it's complicated to answer, it's often varied, but I start by organising the tracks on my session, I start by adjusting the general volume of all the tracks, then I often start by mixing the drums, guitars and bass or everything a bit at the same time depending on what's needed.
