Interview with Alex Cob
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I can say that my personal style is based on the mixture of various scenarios, taking songs from acoustic to dreampop for example. But I like to adapt to various projects for greater musical richness.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: My dream would be to be able to work with very modern producers like Manuel Fernandes Gardner(UnProcressed)
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: A good tip is not to overload the project with processes, just what is necessary is more than enough.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Lately I have worked a lot of the Latin urban genre (reggaeton-pop-rnb) But I come from having worked rock-pop-metal and alternative electronic genres for a long time, giving me a great breadth of resources.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is layers/textures to provide a unique personality to each track.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think I can add personality to the songs, thanks to a very varied range of artists listened to and genres worked on!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It is very varied depending on the work, if it is a production of 0 I usually start with a melody, or the drums if it is a song with a lot of rhythm. I try to focus on the architecture of the song and then the textures to finally work on the mix and balance of the song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio currently relies on my computer, my JBL monitors, my Native Instruments sound card, my piano and my ukulele. Due to moving problems I still haven't brought my other instruments yet.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My biggest inspirations as producers are perhaps Skrillex, Trent Reznor from NIN and Alan Parsons.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common work for my clients are productions from scratch or with previous ideas, and I am usually in charge of the project mix.
