Interview with Koro Beats

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I made a beat for an artist, which became one of my favorite beats due to how I created it and the emotion I managed to convey through it. My role was the creation of the entire instrumental.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm working on a loop pack where other producers can obtain it and create instrumentals using my melodies.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Yes, I know someone, and I would definitely recommend them.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Analog. I prefer the sound design I can achieve more.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I assure them that my work will be as professional as possible so that they are satisfied.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The composition of an instrumental is something I really enjoy, and the fact that it's my job makes it even better.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: People often ask me more about the prices I offer and any discounts available. I usually respond by providing information about the current offers I have, or in some cases, try to reach an agreement where both parties are satisfied, both my side and the client's.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: I don't usually ask many questions to avoid bothering the client too much. I prefer to let the conversation flow, and when the client is ready to discuss any of my services, I aim to have the most stable and effective communication possible to achieve our goals.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: I would tell them to choose a music service provider who fits their specific needs and with whom they can establish open and effective communication to achieve the best possible collaboration.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: Without a doubt, the essentials for me as a musician would be my laptop, my headphones, my MIDI keyboard, my guitar, and my cell phone.

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: I've been in this for 5 years now. It initially started as a hobby, but then I realized that I had a natural and easy talent for composing instrumentals, which was something I always enjoyed. So, I decided to turn it into my profession, and today, it is my job.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: I consider myself to have a unique style when it comes to composing, thanks to my versatility in creating any genre and not sticking to just one. This gives me a broad range when it comes to expressing my style and not sounding the same all the time.

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: I would like to work with Travis Scott or Kanye West one day since they are my inspirations in the music industry.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: In my opinion, an excellent tip when it comes to producing is to keep the beat as simple and catchy as possible. This is because when an artist records over it, they need to have ample space within the instrumental to feel comfortable and ensure that the song comes out as best as possible.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: I usually tend to work more on trap, R&B, and reggaeton than on other genres.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: My strengths lie in melodies and drum arrangement in a beat. I consider myself to have an excellent skill level when it comes to making a beat captivating in terms of its rhythm and perfect for enjoyment.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: I contribute whatever is needed at the moment, primarily focusing on the details related to its creation, or in some cases, songwriting if required.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: Generally, my workflow for creating an instrumental starts with coming up with a melody that pops into my mind, expressing it, and then from there, experimenting and trying out sounds until I reach something that captivates me and I consider to be good. Once I have the melody that I believe is necessary for an instrumental, I usually begin with all the percussion elements that the beat requires, depending on the genre I'm working on. After that, I arrange it and move on to the mixing process, where I ensure that the sounds are properly balanced, applying whatever is necessary for a professional sound (such as equalization, compression, sound effects, sidechain, etc.).

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: In my studio setup, I have just what is necessary for instrumental creations as of today. I have my professional headphones, which have allowed me to take my level and quality of work to a professional standard. I also have my MIDI keyboard, which is indispensable for me as it allows me to compose unique and very natural melodies.

  39. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  40. A: My inspirations in music are Travis Scott, Kanye West, among other great musicians. They are the ones responsible for my love of music. But in terms of my own production, I see myself reflected a lot in the style of great producers like Section 8, Wheezy, ChiChi, Southside. These same producers continue to inspire me today, as I see my style influenced by them.

  41. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  42. A: Usually, my most common jobs for clients tend to be trap beats, with a professional and commercial sound that makes my clients choose me again. I have also done work solely on loops, creating a unique melody for a second producer to work on, finishing the instrumental.
