Uruguayan music producer, mixing and mastering engineer, instrumentalist, and rapper, graduated in Music Production from ORT University. Specialized in full production, recording, mixing, mastering, and session work, with a solid foundation in music theory.
Greetings! I’m Jay Ximo, a Uruguayan music producer, mixing and mastering engineer, instrumentalist, and rapper based in Montevideo. I trained at Universidad ORT Uruguay and have around three years of professional experience, primarily in hip-hop and rock.
As an artist, I write and rap with carefully crafted lyrics and a strong focus on phonetic wordplay and meter. My work revolves around Moscón, my authorial persona and the protagonist of an original comic book: a Montevideo antihero who gives my work its identity.
On the technical side, I offer production, recording, mixing, and mastering. I have experience mixing for artists such as Wade Williams and Tony DaVinci, with a solid grounding in music theory that informs my harmonic and arrangement decisions. I also bring an unusual skill set: I’m a luthier and do my own guitar setups, which gives me an ear for the instrument and a depth of knowledge that shows in the final sound.
My approach combines technical craft with an author’s perspective: I see production as an extension of each artist’s vision, and my own voice as one with neighborhood roots, narrative drive, and an edge.
