Hezron Chetty is a groundbreaking violinist whose unconventional journey has shaped his unique sound. After completing classical and jazz studies, Hezron moved to London to explore punk and folk styles. A stint in Spain followed, where he learned Flamenco before returning to Africa to immerse himself in African rhythms, developing expertise in genres like house, kwaito, and amapiano. Later, he honed his craft in Cremona, Italy, delving into the violin’s rich heritage and exploring the influence of jazz in Italian music.

Hezron’s versatility has seen him contribute to diverse recordings, including orchestral arrangements, experimental tracks, and rock, folk, and world music. His adaptability and creativity have made him a sought-after collaborator for both studio and live performances. His clients have included Sony ATV, Universal Music, Warner, Virgin.

Highlights of his career include opening for celebrated artists such as Vieux Farka Touré, Hugh Masekela, Incubus, Raekwon, and Jocelyn Brown. He’s also shared line ups at festivals with acclaimed acts like Eagles of Death Metal, Mac Miller, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo, earning praise for his emotional depth and technical brilliance.
