Grammy Award Winning Engineer Steve Fontano's (Santana, Prince, Third Eye Blind) Protege ; writing, producing and mixing for artists across a variety of genre's for the past 8 years. I will make your music sound better through any and all means necessary.
I grew up in studios watching and then helping my father produce and engineer the top artists of days past. I started playing drums at 10 years old and quickly progressed to piano and guitar. I played in several bands and still keep a pet project or two. I've participated in music industry from every angle and my passion is in the creative sphere. With a strong dose of technical knowledge, being taken under my father's wing as his assistant from an early age, I specialize in bringing a musician's ear to the technical world that is audio engineering and bringing the artists inspiration to fruition by any avenue at my disposal.
Please include how many track stems I should expect to receive per song as well as a commercial reference mix.

Interview with Keith Fontano
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I produced and engineered One Armed Joey's single "Homesick" from my home studio during Covid. I had the band come in and track first (recorded live drums in my garage) and the drummer didn't want any triggers used. When I look back at that project I'm very proud of the record we produced with all the hoops to jump through.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: A combination of both is always best. It's all about taste and creating the desired effect on your transients and harmonic content.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Your song will come back sounding better than you sent it.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Something new every day!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What's the emotion you're trying to convey? Can you give me an example?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Seek my skills if you wish to elevate the quality of your product.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out assisting my father on label contracted records in big studios, then moved into producing and engineering my own clients for the past 8 years. I still get my fathers ears on things every now and then.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Pulling a feeling out of the track (Dynamics!)
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Often, an artist will bring me their song (demo) and I will have a conversation with the artist about direction and how much they want changed or unchanged. From there I will adjust everything from the content and arrangement all the way to just balancing faders to ensure that I am sending the project back better than I received it.
