Worked with: Gigi D'Agostino, Cheryl Porter, Flavio Insinna and more. Added value: I'm also a Musician. SAE Institute Alumni.
29yo Mixing & Mastering Engineer from Italy. 10+ years of experience.
I love music, I am a trained musician and I have a good knowledge of music theory. As an Audio Engineer I have experience in the Studio (From Homemade to Professional Studios - $100k+ budget) and Live (Clubs, Theatres, Streets).
I write, produce, mix and master my own music, so I perfectly understand that Mixing and Mastering are fundamental steps in the creative process (not just technical stuff), and require musical knowledge and good taste.
I love learning by doing, and every project is an opportunity for me to grow as an Audio Engineer and also as an Artist. That's what I'm here for. Money is useful, but not the main goal.
I'm not a Grammy-nominated Engineer but I will put my heart and soul (and my experience) into your project. If you ask me to, I can also add some "ear candy" to your tracks, providing depth and warmth to your composition (this comes for free with the Mixing service).
If you need to work on multiple tracks (e.g. an EP or an album) and you're looking for the right Engineer, I can offer a free trial before we start.

Interview with Edoardo Vezzani
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I like both, but as of now I mainly work with digital because I have an Home Studio, and analog requires a lot of space.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That this is all about technical stuff, software, gear etc. Those are just the tools, but a good mix is made with ears, hands and experience.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started more than 10 years ago, playing with Garage Band and Logic Pro on my computer. Then in 2014 I went to SAE Institute in Milan to learn this job. In 2015 I started working as Audio Engineer for bands in my city, and from 2016 I turned pro, serving as a Live Audio Engineer for some big names in Italy, such as Gigi D'Agostino, Cheryl Porter, Flavio Insinna. In the meanwhile, I was also working in the Studio for local artists. In 2018 I started my career as an IT Consultant, but I kept working with music everyday as my secondary job, and that's what I still do today.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm proud of everything I've done, but if I have to pick one, I would say working as Mixing & Mastering Engineer for the soundtrack of "Haze" by Stefano Raspa, a short film featuring one of my favourite Italian actors: Ninni Bruschetta.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My own music.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No, I'm new here! Let's connect!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will work with love and dedication, like I always do.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love music, and working with music.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What's your vision? What's your main reference?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't look for the most expensive, most exclusive engineer out there. Search for the one you can feel a connection with. That's what music is about.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 4 amazing musicians. 1 recorder.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I don't like to describe myself, but I would like to be described as "uncommon" and "elegant".
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Kings of Convenience. Their simple and delicate sound is way more sofisticated than it may seem.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Start from doing the right choices. The right sounds, the right drum samples, the right instruments. Then it all comes easier.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mainly electronic (all kinds of electronic music) and indie. More rarely jazz, funk, R'n'B.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I love music and I've been listening to music all day since I was a child. This may sound cheesy but I really think that music knowledge and taste are the most important skills in an Audio Engineer.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My personal taste and experience, but the artist's vision is the most important thing and I always try to respect that.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by talking to the artist, listening to the song and creating an image in my head. Then I start working on the actual stereo imaging until it meets what I have in mind. Then I adjust overall volume and dynamics.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an Home Studio and mainly work with digital equipment. Ableton Live is the software I use most, along with Izotope Ozone. I have good studio monitors but I also like to test the rendition on ALL devices (smartphone, cheap headphones, car etc.) because that's how the people are going to listen to your music.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: So many. I love all producers from Ninja Tune, Ghostly International, City Slang etc. I also love singer/songwriters who fully produce their own tracks (e.g. Mac DeMarco).
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing their tracks and help them shape their sound. The first step for a good mix, is understanding the needs of the artist and the main concept of the project.
I was the Composer, Performer, Producer, Mixing Engineer and Mastering Engineer in this production
