Interview with Peter Dian

  1. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  2. A: For me, it's not a job, it's a way of life. I love music and I love working with artists creating something special every time.

  3. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  4. A: Patience and willingness to communicate.

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: Mac Studio Ultra, RME Fireface UFX III, SSL Pure Drive Octo x2, Avid S1, Yamaha HS80M+HS8S, Pro Tools 2023.12

  7. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  8. A: I'm really inspired by the Japanese music scene since their music is very close to my heart. I like how emotional and different their music is. Bands like: blue edge emotion, Coldrain, OLDCODEX, 落日と消失, BAND-MAID, Crossfaith, Sailing Before The Wind... just to name a few

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: Digital mostly, hybrid and sometimes analog. In the past I've been working with analog gear, but digital is much more efficient and clean with lower noise floor and ability to recall sessions and make edits easily.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Always record the DI when recording guitars and bass!

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
