Iván is an excellent producer. He is very dedicated and a perfectionist when it comes to mixing and mastering tracks. He is very patient and perfectly understands what the artist is looking for. We worked together on several occasions, but without a doubt the best was when we did together my song "LO QUE TENEEMOS". It was a long process in which we tried different things until we reached the final result, which was undoubtedly very good.

I’ve worked with Ivan. He’s a very professional guy. I sent a song recorded by mine and then the result is completely amazing. I was expecting some kind of better quality but result actually was crazy. Thank you Ivan for it! I’m about to finish my third song with him :)

Interview with Ivan Carrasay

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I have worked on a song called "Indyra - Mis Trazos" with my band. The song is completely original and composed by us. We put a lot of effort into creating a unique piece of music. We spent a lot of time perfecting the lyrics, arrangement, and structure of the song. Our goal was to express a mix of emotions such as sadness and anger, and I believe that we were successful in combining these emotions perfectly.

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: I would recommend Andres Mayo. He is an excellent mastering engineer who has worked with some of the top artists in the world. One of his biggest advantages is that he uses analog equipment for mastering, which ensures that the final result for each project is always unique.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: I would choose analog equipment over digital because the color of the sound produced by analog equipment is unique and varies depending on the materials used and the environment in which it was used. Additionally, these characteristics make the analog sound distinct for each studio or producer.

  7. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  8. A: The clients frequently ask me for the days of the delivery project. I always answer for 10 days, and if the client needs revision versions I am open and always available to do it.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: I am capable of conveying the emotions that a song expresses. I can bring to life the feelings that the music evokes.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: Before I begin mixing a song, I start by listening to it extensively. I then organize the project and if needed, make adjustments to the audio files to fix any issues encountered during the recording process. Once everything is properly arranged, I start the mixing process, with a focus on capturing the emotions of the song and aiming for a final product that is close to mastering.

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: I have a home studio with a Focusrite Scarlett iSolo and headphones Beyerdinamic DT 990Pro.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: I am influenced by many artists and music producers, such as Morgan Wallen, Justin Bieber, and Ed Sheeran. I learned to listen to music by listening to their work. 21. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  22. A: I think it's to work more than I should. It's important to taking a break of the project to get the best result.
