Interview with KIBE BEATS
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Zimenishika by Zzero Sufuri: I mixed and mastered the song. I used a variety of techniques to blend reggae rhythm with the traditional African instruments and the electronic beats. I also made sure that the vocals were clear and present in the mix. Can't Explain by Daney B: I co-produced the song with Daney. I helped to create the beat and I also worked on the arrangement and mixing. I am particularly proud of the way we were able to incorporate Daney's vocals into the mix.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on my album that will feature various artists from various genres. My goal is for the album to be available on major streaming platforms by the beginning of October.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No, I'm still new here but I'm looking forward to working with the talent that was here before me.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital music production is easier to learn and use. Digital music production software is typically easier to learn and use than analog music equipment. This is due to the fact that digital music software has user-friendly interfaces and tutorials that can help you get started. Digital music production is more portable. Digital music production software can be run on laptops and other portable devices, making it possible to create music anywhere you go. This can be a great advantage for music producers who want to be able to work on their music on the go.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Be creative and innovative. I will use my skills and experience to help you create music that is unique and original. Be professional and reliable. I will be on time and budget, and I will always communicate with you throughout the production process. Be collaborative and open-minded. I will work with you to create the music that you want, and I will be open to your ideas and feedback.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The creative challenge. Music production is a constantly evolving field, and there are always new techniques and technologies to learn. I enjoy the challenge of staying up-to-date on the latest trends and finding new ways to make music. The collaborative process. Music production is a team effort, and I enjoy working with other musicians, engineers, and artists to create something special. The satisfaction of a job well done. There is nothing quite like hearing a song that you produced on the radio or in a club. It's a great feeling to know that you played a role in creating something that people enjoy.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What software do you use to produce music? How much does it cost to produce a song? How long does it take to produce a song?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Music production is all about the technology. While technology is certainly an important part of music production, it is not the only thing that matters. Creativity, experience, and musicality are also essential. You need to be a musician to be a music producer. While it is helpful to have some musical knowledge, it is not essential. Many successful music producers do not play any instruments or sing.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What kind of music do you want to make? This is the most important question, as it will help me determine if I am a good fit for your project. What is your budget? This is important to know so that I can give you an accurate quote. What is your timeline? This will help me plan the project and make sure that we can meet your deadline. What are your expectations? This will help me understand what you are looking for in a producer and how I can best meet your needs. What are your strengths and weaknesses as an artist? This will help me to tailor my production techniques to your individual needs. What are your goals for this project? This will help me to stay focused on your vision and make sure that we are on the same page. Do you have any previous work that I can listen to? This will give me a good idea of your style and what you are looking for in a producer. Are you open to feedback? This is important, as I will likely have some suggestions for how to improve your music. Are you available to meet in person? This is not always necessary, but it can be helpful to get to know each other and discuss the project in more detail.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Do your research: Find producers who have experience in your genre of music. Be clear about your expectations: What is your budget? What is your timeline? What is your desired sound? Get references: Ask for references from previous clients. Trust your gut: If you feel like a producer is a good fit for you, then go with your gut.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: First Aid Kit Knife Water Filter Survival Guide Solar Charger
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career path was in Journalism and Communications. I majored in Film and Video production. I have been doing this for 2 years now.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I am always striving to create music that is both sonically pleasing and emotionally resonant. I want my music to make people feel something, whether it is joy, excitement, or nostalgia. I am still under development as a music producer, but I am excited to see where my journey takes me. I hope to continue to experiment and grow, and I hope to one day create music that is truly special.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Drake. He is one of the most popular and successful artists in the world, and I think he would be a great collaborator. He is a global superstar with a massive fan base. He is a versatile artist who can rap, sing, and produce music. He is a risk-taker who is not afraid to experiment with new sounds and techniques. He is a collaborator who is always willing to work with new people.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't be afraid to experiment.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop, Trap and RnB
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I would say beat-making and mixing and mastering.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Creativity and vision: I help the artist to bring their vision for the song to life. I do this by coming up with ideas for the arrangement, instrumentation, and soundscape. Technical expertise: I have a deep understanding of music production techniques and equipment. I use this knowledge to help the artist achieve their desired sound. Collaboration: I work closely with the artist to get the best possible results. I am always open to feedback and I am always willing to try new things. Experience: I have over 7 years of experience working as a music producer. I have worked with a variety of artists and genres, and I have a proven track record of success.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Meet with the artist and discuss their vision for the song. This is the most important step, as it helps me to understand what the artist is trying to achieve. I will ask the artist about their influences, their goals for the song, and any specific ideas they have. Start brainstorming ideas and creating a rough arrangement. Once I have a good understanding of the artist's vision, I will start to come up with ideas for the song. I will often start by playing around with different instruments and sounds, and I will also listen to reference tracks to get inspiration. Record the instruments and vocals. Once I have a rough arrangement, I will start recording the instruments and vocals. I will work closely with the artist to get the best possible performances. Start mixing and mastering the song. Once the instruments and vocals are recorded, I will start mixing and mastering the song. This is where I will fine-tune the sound of the song and make sure it sounds its best. Get feedback from the artist and make revisions as needed. Once the song is mixed and mastered, I will send it to the artist for feedback. I will make any revisions that the artist requests until they are happy with the final product.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have Fl Studio and Logic Pro installed on my computer I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface. I have a Shure SM57 microphone for recording vocals and acoustic instruments. I have a pair of Yamaha HS7 studio monitors for mixing and mastering. I also have a few other pieces of equipment, such as a midi keyboard and a synthesizer. My studio setup is basic, but it's all I need to produce high-quality music. I'm always looking to upgrade my equipment, but I'm happy with what I have for now.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Drake, Metro Boomin, Drisa Beatz
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
