Interview with hoven

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: i am new here so, I can't really help them in that.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: I prefer digital over analog because it's more convenient, versatile, and affordable. Digital allows me to use various software and plugins that emulate analog sounds and effects without having to buy expensive hardware or deal with maintenance issues. Digital also gives me more control, flexibility, and creativity.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: My 'promise' to my clients is that I will deliver high-quality beats that match their vision and expectations. I will work hard and fast to meet their deadlines and requirements. I will communicate with them effectively and respectfully. I will be flexible and accommodating to their needs and preferences. I will make sure that they are happy and satisfied with the final product.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: What I like most about my job is that I get to do what I love and express myself through music. I enjoy creating new sounds and melodies and experimenting with different genres and styles. I also like working with different artists and clients and helping them achieve their musical goals and dreams.

  9. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  10. A: Some of the questions customers most commonly ask me are: - How long does it take you to make a beat? My answer: It depends on the complexity and requirements of the project. It can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days or even weeks. I usually give an estimate before I start working on the project. - Can I get a discount or a free trial? My answer: Sorry, but no. I charge fair and reasonable prices for my work based on the market rates and the quality I provide. I also don't offer free trials because I have enough samples and demos on my profile that showcase my skills and style. - Can I get exclusive rights to the beat? My answer: Yes, but it will cost more than a non-exclusive license. Exclusive rights mean that you will be the only owner of the beat and no one else can use it. Non-exclusive rights mean that you can use the beat for your project but I can still sell it to other customers. - Can I make changes or revisions to the beat after you send it to me? My answer: Yes, but only within a reasonable limit. I usually allow up to 3 revisions per track for free. Any additional revisions will incur extra charges. - Can I credit you as a producer on my project? My answer: Yes, of course. I appreciate it when my clients give me credit for my work. You can credit me as "Produced by Hoven" or "Beat by Hoven" or something similar.

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that it's easy and anyone can do it. Some people think that making beats is just pressing some buttons and copying some loops. They don't realize how much time, effort, skill, creativity, and knowledge it takes to make a good beat. They also don't appreciate the value and quality of my work and try to lowball me or ask for freebies.

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: - What is the purpose and goal of your project? - Who is your target audience or market? - What are some examples of songs or artists that inspire you or that you want to sound like? - How many tracks do you need and how long should they be? - Do you need any vocals or samples on the tracks? - Do you need me to mix and master the tracks or do you have someone else to do it? - What is your budget and how do you want to pay me? - What is your deadline and how flexible are you with it?

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: - Be clear and specific about what you want and need for your project. Provide as much information and details as possible, such as the genre, the mood, the tempo, the length, the format, the budget, the deadline, etc. - Communicate with me regularly and give me honest and constructive feedback. Tell me what you like and what you don't like about my work. Don't be afraid to ask for changes or revisions if you are not satisfied with the result. I'm always open to suggestions and improvements. - Trust me and respect me as a professional. I will do my best to meet your expectations and deliver a high-quality product that you will love.

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: - My PC with all my software and plugins installed - My MIDI keyboard - My microphone - My headphones - A power bank or A solar-powered charger

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I started making music when I was 14 years old. I was inspired by listening to hip hop music online. I downloaded some free software and started making beats on my computer. I gradually improved my skills and knowledge over time.

  22. A: I would describe my style as eclectic and diverse. I don't limit myself to one genre or sound; I like to explore different possibilities and experiment with different elements. I try to make beats that are fresh and original but also familiar and appealing

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: I would like to work with Kendrick Lamar because he is one of my favorite rappers and one of the most influential artists in hip hop today. He has a unique voice and flow and he always delivers meaningful and powerful lyrics. He also works with some of the best producers in the industry who create amazing beats for him. I think it would be an honor and a challenge to work with him.

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: I usually work on hip hop music, but I also work on other genres such as pop, jazz, and electronic. I like to experiment with different sounds and styles and challenge myself to learn new things.

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: My strongest skill is making beats that are versatile and adaptable to different genres and situations. I can make beats for any type of song, whether it's rap, R&B, pop, or EDM. I can also make beats for video games or movies that match the theme and mood of the scene. I have a good ear for music and a good sense of rhythm and harmony.

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: I bring creativity, originality, and quality to a song. I try to make beats that suit the artist's style and vision, but also add my own flair and personality. I pay attention to the details and nuances of the sound, such as the groove, the dynamics, the tone, and the atmosphere. I also make sure that the beat is catchy, memorable, and engaging.

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: I usually start by listening to some reference tracks or samples that match the genre and mood of the project. Then I create a basic drum pattern and add some melodies and chords. I tweak the sounds and effects until I'm happy with the result. I then export the beat as a WAV file and send it to the client for feedback. If they want any changes or revisions, I make them accordingly. I also offer to mix and master the track if they need it.

  33. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  34. A: I have a home studio with a PC, a MIDI keyboard, a microphone, and a pair of headphones. I use FL Studio for making beats

  35. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  36. A: I'm inspired by many hip hop artists and producers, such as Dr. Dre, Kanye West, J Dilla, Travis Scott, and DJ Premier. I also admire other genres and styles of music, such as jazz, pop, and electronic.

  37. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  38. A: I mostly make beats for different genres, especially hip hop. I can also mix and master the tracks, add vocals or samples, and create sound effects. I work with clients who need music for their songs, video games, movies, or other projects
