I am Joel Bäck, aka Jueell, and I've been producing and mixing records for 8 years. During these 8 years, I've worked on hundreds of projects in many different styles and genres. Everything from soul-disco, to house remixes, to hiphop records, to emo-rock. I recently had an official collab with Spotify Sweden where they released a song I produced, mixed and mastered. And they hosted a release party at their headquarters in Stockholm.
I offer both production services and engineering services. I can produce custom beats, I can mix your vocals/tracks, I can master your songs. Anything you need.
I work in FL Studio, and I use both analog synths and digital plugins to produce and engineer.
Music is my passion. I make music everyday, which means that I can deliver your projects quickly, and with quality.

Interview with Joel Bäck
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My official remix of Baiána by Barbatuques. I produced the remix, mixed it, mastered it and got it officially released on my own. The songs is really old by now, and my skills have evolved greatly since then, but I'm still very proud of being able to pull it of.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Many different projects. Working on a few different albums with some artist-friends of mine. Sounds really cool so far.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I really recommend Rasmus Sandström for Masters, he is a real genius and a good friend of mine.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: For instruments, analog all the way. Playing analog is so much more expressive.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise, the highest quality, quickly.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love music. Thats about it.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: They often ask how quickly I can get the work done. The answer is, for the most part, in less than 24 hours.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People who aren't into music think that it's just pressing buttons, but it really is so much more than that.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I often ask about their vision. What vision do you have for this project? What inspired you? It helps me help them get to where they want to be.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I would advice looking for someone with a real passion for whatever services you are in need of. Real passion is very often linked to good quality and carefully created products.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I would take my laptop, a Maschine Mk2, a Moog Muse, a microphone and an audio interface. I don't think I need much more.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been in music for 8 years. I started making beats and writing songs in november of 2016 and I was immediately in love. It's been a long journey and I've loved every step of it. I am currently working as an in-house producer in a studio in Helsingborg, Sweden.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: A do a lot of different styles, but I often hear that all of my songs have a Soul-influenced sound. I have always loved Soul and I take a lot of inspiration from it.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Travis Scott, I really like his sound and how versatile he is.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Take a step back and think. Most of my good ideas come from just stepping back for a second, and reflecting on what a track needs.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-hop, rap and trap.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I am a good keyboard player. I love freestyling on my synths.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring creativity. I am very creative in my production and songwriting.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: More often than not, artists come to me with a vision. We discuss this vision until I feel like I fully understand it. Once I understand their vision, we get to work on the production. When the instrumental is complete, and the artist has recorded their vocals, I mix and master the record.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mainly work in 2 studios, my home studio, and a studio in Helsingborg. My home studio is well equipped with both midi controllers like the Maschine mk2, and analog synths like the Korg Minilogue XD.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am often inspired by artists like Travis Scott, Tame Impala, Childish Gambino, Joey Bada$$ and many more.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly produce instrumentals for artists, and then later on I mix their vocals to the track.
