Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: An EP of our band. I wrote some lyrics, put my music ideas in all songs. I also recorded, produced, mixed and mastered 6 out of 7 songs.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: We (as a band) just started to make new songs but it’s a long way to go since we just released an EP.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I don’t know anyone but I might just don’t know it’s presence on this platform.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. You can have more different compresors or EQs because it´s much cheaper and the difference is not huge. It is also portable which is important to me as well. But i admit that hardware have a little spark in it.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My job is not finished untill you are happy.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I do what I am best at and it’s never repetetive.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That music is just a hobby… it has never been just a hobby for me, it is everything and I want it to be my job
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I want to know what music they like or inspire them and I want a reference track.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have a chat with everyone you consider hiring. Be opened but carefull and don’t be satisfied with acceptable (meh) result.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, guitar, microphone, headphones, audio interface.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I am 24, I have played in a band since I was 16. I started music production like 6 years ago and it has been my passion ever since. Now I am guitarist, music producer, song writter, sound engineer, monitor sound engineer (one of the biggest czech bands).
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is to always make it sound good no matter what. I almost always use guitar in songs
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: AJR - I would actualy learn a ton about music production because they are just next level (they do their songy by themselves)
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never trust your eyes but always your ears.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, pop-rock, rock
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I know my gear, I know many kinds of tricks with audio and I always use my ears and my crirical insight on my work.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always try to be creative and I bring fresh, clean (or dirty), high quality sound to any kind of reconding and I bring everything to life.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usualy get excited or inspired before I do the creative stuff, but it’s pretty easy because I love making music.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My setup consist of desk, PC with DAW, studio monitors, studio headphones, guitars, piano, bass, hands and ears.
