Professional. Experienced. Powerful. These are the traits you can expect and will get from me. I can sing in a number of different styles and I have an extensive vocal range. My comparisons have run the gamut from Paul Rodgers to Johnny Cash. I'm also a "one-take Jake" in the studio, so you can be sure your project will be time on time every time.

“...a musician who's only getting better at what he does.”
- Eric R. Danton (WSJ/Rolling Stone/Paste/Pitchfork)

Jeff Przech (pronounced “Presh”) is an artist and songwriter originally from Hartford, Connecticut. While he draws inspiration and influence from numerous artists and genres, Przech writes and sings Country music. “There are very few things I love more than singing country songs,” he says. His deep, resonant baritone elicits frequent comparisons to Chris Stapleton, Darius Rucker, Gregg Allman, and even Waylon Jennings, one of Przech’s musical heroes. His most recent release, Helena: The Country Sounds, gives a nod to his affinity for the classic country music of the mid-1970s with songs featuring mostly acoustic guitars and accented by pedal steel.

In 2023 Przech’s songwriting was recognized both regionally and nationally. His song “Maribelle,” from the Outfit record, was chosen for the Essential Western New England Songbook, which the curators call a “listenable juried anthology of 200 of the best songs ever written by artists who’ve lived in Western New England and whose careers have a significant connection to the area. A virtual “Hall of Fame” of original songs.” Meanwhile, “Eden,” from the Sounds Like Fresh record, was featured on the ABC drama Big Sky.

Jeff is a seasoned artist, as well as a wonderful musician to work with to create solid songs. The delivery on his vocals of "Break Free" was heartfelt and reflective, which was needed to give this song life. Jeff understood my direction, and I look forward to working with him again.

This was my first time working with Jeff but it won't be my last. He has an amazing voice that he knows how to record. He communicated through the process and was always a total pro. Highly recommended.

Interview with Jeff Przech ("Presh")

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I take pride in all my work so I'm proud of everything I've done. Of course, my own music and records will always be the most special, but I put everything I have into everything I do.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm currently working on a 10 song demo for a songwriter and also trying to fit in time to continue writing for my fourth record.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Digital.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: It rarely feels like work.

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: That it's easy!

  11. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  12. A: I'd take one of my Seagull acoustic guitars and that's about it since desert islands don't have electricity to power anything else.

  13. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  14. A: Shooter Jennings.

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: Measure twice, cut once.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: The fact that I'm both a vocalist and a writer. I can look at a song from both perspectives, trying to get the feeling and emotion behind the lyrics and also interpret that emotion vocally.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: Way too many to list. As far as songwriting goes, Kris Kristofferson is at the top of the list by himself. He has a way with words and language that is unparalleled. As for vocals, I could listen to Waylon Jennings sing a Chinese food menu. I also like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash (of course), Chris Stapleton and plenty of rock guys too like Paul Rodgers.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: I am a vocalist and songwriter (though I'm not a fan of the term 'singer-songwriter' because it's too broad). Most of my session work has been singing on people's demos, but I have written songs for clients as well.
