I specialize in mixing live band performances for both promotional use and distribution to music platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. I have also been a live sound engineer for the last three years working with a multitude of rock, punk rock, pop, and country bands. I enjoy mixing songs to have both a “live” and “studio” feel to them.
My name is Brandon Gallego, and I am a 24 year old that has spent the last five years doing both live and studio mixing and mastering in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My main focus is producing live tracks for bands that have a live, yet studio like feel to them. This stems from my love and passion of music. I have played in three bands over the last couple of years which gives me a in-depth understanding of how things should sound and what makes a track interesting and attention grabbing. I specifically take the live multitracks from the band’s local sound engineer and mix them remotely at home.I also love to experiment with the recording process and things such as microphone choice and placement.

Interview with Brandon Gallego
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I have always grown up doing the best I can with what I am given. At the moment I only use digital gear, but I do the best work I can with what I have.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love listening to songs and genres I have never heard before, because it excites me and usually leads to an even better mix.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The best tip I could give is to be open to different styles and genres you haven't worked with before. You'd be surprised in how much you might like one and how good of a mix you can get out of it.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Getting the best mix possible with whatever gear was provided/used for the live tracking of a song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to bring the feel of a live performance to a song while also trying to incorporate studio like quality for the best listening experience.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Taking live multitracks from a band's performance and mixing it to sound both "live" and studio like at the same time.
