Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I directed sound designed and composed the music for the sci-fi radio play "Unearthing".
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Music composition & sound design for film, video games and radio plays.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: It depends on the individual project, but ususally digital with analog add ons if needed.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: A productive, professional and fun experience.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Meeting new and intersting people and always working on something new.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: can you do XY and how much is your rate? The answer is almost always yes, and if not (I will be honest about this) I can recommed someone who can do it.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: It's not work. :-)
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: do you have reference tracks or projects? What do you particularly like about the individual references.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: It is always a good idea to have some references (does not have to be music) and be clear about what you particularly like about the reference.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: satellite telephone, solar power system, laptop, headphones, field recorder
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been playing and writing music my entire life. After studying media art with the focus on sound and radio play, I work as a freelancer since 2016.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: genre-bleding fusion
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Mick Gordon, since his work is really inspiring and he seems like a wonderful person to work with.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you're in the flow, let the flow guide you. If not use technique until you're back in the flow. Extra tip: Take breaks for your ears ;-)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Soundtracks for Games and Jingles for Podcasts.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: The ability to connect to a clients vision and understanding the particular needs of a project.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Thinking outside the box when it comes to genre, while still using a style that fits.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It largely depends on the project, but I almost always start with some research and a sketch.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Logic Pro X with a lot of sample libraries, Head Phones Monitors, Interface, Midi Controllers, various Mics, and some analog synths
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Too many to name them all, so just a few to explain the "range": Snarky Puppy, Blink 182, Trent Reznor, Martin Stig Andersen, Deichkind, Mick Gordon.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: While I offer all of services individually, my most common work is complete sonic solutions costumized for the particular project and its needs.
