Interview with Sky Santana
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have my coin ready.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Microphone, Macbook, Protools, Iphone & headphones lol
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Been songwriting since age 9, and here i am 21 years later.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Chameleon.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Beyonce of course. She's at the top.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If the production is trash, no one cares about the vocals.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: All Genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I can songwrite to any genre, and i also can tell you if a song will be a hit or not. I also can sing and rap in several different tones, I even have songs where it sounds like its multiple people on it (Look At Dat, Bakery, for example) but its just me utilizing my voice. Also im really amazing at background harmonies, since i come from a Opera background & I'm classically trained, i believe every song should still sound like a full song acapella.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Whatever is needed. In my own personal music i go back and forth between feminine and masculine singing and rapping, with different alter egos. Im a Chameleon so i can morph and adjust into whatever is needed. I'm also great at mimicking the style of professional artists.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I work rather quickly. I'm inspired by the beat. I know instantly within seconds whether or not a song is a hit and 50% of it is due to the production of the beat.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Home Studio Setup
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Cardi B, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Tricky Stewart, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Ciara, Britney Spears, Madonna, Ke$ha, City Girls, Ice Spice, Katy Perry, Mary J Blidge
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I sing, i rap and i songwrite. I can write to any genre, you can listen to my music on streaming services to get a taste of all the sounds i can do.
