Working with Pim was an absolute pleasure. I couldn't be happier with the result of my first Dolby Atmos mix. Pim not only met my high expectations but also handled revisions with great care and attention to detail, can highly recommend.

Interview with MixByPim

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Silly question..we need both!

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: Results & 100% Satisfaction.. What more can we do?

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: I love that every challenge is different.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Use your ears not eyes - ignore the credits... they don't say much i.m.o.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: Laptop, Midi Keyboard, Headphones & a crate of Heineken!

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: Currently I would probably say Oliver Malcolm & Rosalia.

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Experiment!

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: My heart lies with a range of eclectic genres - Electronic, Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B & Soul.

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  18. A: Flexibility & Empathy.

  19. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  20. A: Years of expertise as a Music Producer & Audio Engineer. I leverage this with trained ears, skill & network.

  21. Q: What's your typical work process?

  22. A: Don't have one. No 2 project are the same & neither is our approach. If I'd had to name something - I would say we define the end goal first and identify all the challenges and solutions to getting a project to the finish line. From here we build.

  23. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  24. A: I work in multiple environments - I get a lot of work done in my garden, located in the Dutch countryside with my laptop, midi keyboard & Beyerdynamic headphones as I find this to be the most inspiring environment. When collaborating, finishing up or quality controlling projects I go to my studio in the Hague or the Abbey Road Institute studio in Amsterdam. Both equipped with all the instruments you could imagine & cutting edge software/hardware as well as a 7.1.4 PMC speaker setup tuned by Dolby.

  25. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  26. A: Disruptors like Kendrick, Billie Eilish or Raye.

  27. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  28. A: I come from a producer/creator background, but over the last few years Dolby Atmos & Mixing has become my main occupation.
