Mike Stahl on SoundBetter

Let’s elevate and enhance the way your music is experienced! Producer & Mixer specializing in indie, alternative, pop/rock and country.

Hey there! If you’re an artist trying to get that crucial finishing touch on your song, you’ve come to the right place.
With an ear for detail and a passion for helping artists bring their music to life, my goal is to work with your vision to get things sounding and feeling as great as possible.

I moved to Nashville in 2015 to learn and intern at Dark Horse Recording. Before long I was working with a variety of artists both in the studio and on tour. Because of my diverse experience I respect every artist’s unique vision and love finding the hidden gems that make you stand out.

While mixing is a passion of mine, I’m not exclusively a mix engineer. With my writing and production experience I’m also proficient with editing and vocal tuning. If the vision calls for it, I can help tighten things up and add production elements as needed.

I approach every project with flexibility for creativity. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out, I’d love to hear from you.

Interview with Mike Stahl

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Mixing Four Lungs for Motherly Jet. Our creative intuition just clicked from the start. It was a really smooth and very collaborative process that blurred the lines between mixing and putting some extra sparkle on the production.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Mixing an EP for a Country Pop duo. Also writing and producing my own debut EP.

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: Who inspires you and makes you excited about your own music? How would you describe what your song feels like?

  7. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  8. A: Editing while mixing is huge and quite common for me. It may only be 3% of all the work that goes into finishing a song but don't underestimate what a massive difference it can make!
