The music coming out of my voice and my hands is a powerful tool I was given to share with others. In my life, this is what keeps my material, emotional and spiritual worlds balanced. If I have to summarize what I do in a sentence, I'd say I channel the energy that comes from a power greater than me into sound, chords, melodies and rhythm.

My name is Jorge and I am a musician from Guatemala. My musical background is diverse and all very nourishing and powerful (Listening and imitating music as a child, learning piano basics at the national conservatory, learning and playing the guitar at church, forming a rock band as a teenager, studying electric guitar with private tutors, learning music theory, harmony and jazz basics at the university, singing/songwriting to express myself, delivering workshops to small groups in rural areas, performing in rock/hip-hop/indie/latin bands, designing a learning guide/coloring book to teach the basics of the guitar).

I specialize in acoustic guitar and singing, now playing frequently to the chords and strumming of bossa nova and samba, although I also play other genres such as rock, jazz, reggae and funk. My current vocal range is C2-G4 (chest voice) / G4-G5 (head voice). I am also happy to share guidance and knowledge for guitar learners (beginner and intermediate) if desired.

Whether it is for music/guitar learning, a vocal performance alone, a guitar performance alone or both, I am glad and honored to be part of your musical path.
