Soundlocs on SoundBetter

Need a unique and inspiring sound? I'm the one! With a focus on combining several genres, you can rest assured that your current fan base will appreciate the development and growth of your sound, while also potentially garnering the attention of a whole new fan base!

I mainly focus on the standard Hip-hop/Trap elements, the heavy 808's and basses, eccentric hats, with a rhythmic bounce. On my more creative projects, however, you can hear a very energetic influence of trance, dubstep, ambient-house, all mixed with elements from Hip-hop/Trap, R&B, and trip-hop.

As you may have noticed my pricing is lower than other listings, and that is to remain competitive and to gain trust as a new comer on this platform. Think of it as a Going into business/Introductory sale!

Interview with Soundlocs

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: No im relatively new on this site

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: I like digital because of the type of music i make, with regards to clipping, and it seems that theres plenty of emulations of analog gear that is at my disposal.

  5. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  6. A: That i can make terrible recordings sound like gold. its just not possible with my current skill set.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: I like to get a general time frame that the client is willing to work with. I understand that some of my clients are also providers looking to outsource some labor.

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: I typically advise them that I like over communication, to make sure i get the right idea implemented. I also explain that i prefer over communication from them as well, because the more information that i have will help me better serve my clients.

  11. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  12. A: laptop, airpods, midi controller, drum pad, and a good book.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: Ive been producing for about 4 years so I’m still in the infancy of this career. i plan to eventually expand to being a recording engineer once i get more experience under my belt.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: It has been described as an eclectic mix of hip/hop, bass, and electronica.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: Id like to work woth of the trees to try and better replicate his style and to expand my knowledge, but I’m also open to working with any body that i can learn from.

  19. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  20. A: take a 15-20 minute break every hour or so, i find this helps refresh the ears and gives you time to stretch your back.

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: I normally work on Hip-hop/Rap, R&b, and bass/synthwave style productions.

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: my strongest skill would be my sound replication abilities. Im able to recreate some synths and drum grooves.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: I can bring new life to a song by looking at things from a fresh perspective. I tend to have an unconventional production style that catches the listeners attention and provides replay value.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: my typical work flow is to get a groove going with drums then I usually start noodling around on the midi controller to lock in a melody. after the music normally writes itself. If I’m doing sound design for anything other than music, I like to start off recording some foly then layering and processing sounds individually then all together. This is just an over generalization though, the way i approach tasks depends on my end goal.

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: my setup is on the basic side for right now, i have Studio monitors, fl studio, studio one, a plethora of software, and a ukulele. I have all the required tools to get the job done.

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: My music has a range of influences, for hip hop/Rap my influences are: Benny tha butcher/griselda/drumwerks, Xxx Tentacion/Members Only. For my electronic music sounds im influenced by Of the trees, Subtronics, and dank frank

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: I have a pretty diverse taste in music that blends into whatever I may be working on. I provide custom melody and drum loops, serum presets, fl studio effects chains, UI element sound design, plus many more services.
