Hey there! I'm a sound engineer with a deep love for music production and mixing. My journey started right in the heart of Buenos Aires when I interned at a production company. During that time, I discovered my true passion for mixing, which led me to pursue my dreams. I decided to take it a step further by studying music production at Oral Roberts University. Throughout my time there, I had the incredible opportunity to be part of an exceptional production team. It was there that I not only honed my skills but also expanded my knowledge and gained invaluable experience.
What sets me apart is not just my love for music but also my ability to connect with people and deliver on their expectations. I believe in the power of collaboration, creating music that truly resonates with your heart. One of the most exciting experiences in my journey was the summer of 2022 when I had the privilege of touring with Marcos Witt. Working alongside Grammy award-winning Audio Engineers, I had the chance to assist and learn from the best in the industry, an experience that continues to shape my approach to music.
Following my time with Marcos Witt, I spent a full year at a recording studio, where I mastered my ear skills and delved deep into the world of both digital and analog techniques. It was a transformative experience that significantly expanded my expertise.

Interview with Paolo Interlandi
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm very proud of my work with Exilio Purpura on "Me Desarme". It was one of the first songs that really made me think I had a thing going and that I could have a future in this business. It was kind of a confirmation!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently, I'm collaborating with an LA-based artist hailing from Albuquerque, known as Z, The Author. We're diving into some exciting Hip-Hop and Trap music, working on creating a sonic journey that truly represents his unique style and artistic vision. It's a fantastic project, and I'm looking forward to the final result.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: My mentor, Jeffery Armstreet! Great person and engineer! I've learned mostly from him and I can assure you he is GREAT!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I love analog, it does have a signature sound.. but I can achieve 95% of that thru digital, for 10% of the price... depends on the client I guess...
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to clients is simple: I'm here to make your music shine and have a great time doing it. We'll bring your creative vision to life together, all while keeping the process fun and stress-free. Let's make music that makes you smile!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I love most about my job is the perfect blend of freedom and creativity it offers, all while keeping me technically engaged. It's like having the best of both worlds – the liberty to explore artistic boundaries and the satisfaction of mastering the technical aspects, ensuring that the music sounds as amazing as it can be.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can I be there while you mix? No, you can't! hahah
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I've been asked if I'm a DJ... you know the pain. ahaha
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: In initial discussions with prospective clients, I prioritize understanding their project by asking key questions. This includes inquiring about their desired sound, budget, preferred timeline, and ensuring proper stem organization. These insights help streamline the collaboration, allowing me to provide tailored services and deliver the best results for their music.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: When considering a provider like me, it's crucial to define your goals, review their portfolio, and communicate your vision effectively. Ask questions about their process, budget, and collaboration style. Don't forget to check reviews and references, confirm deadline adherence, and prioritize a provider who is flexible and responsive to your creative input. Trust your instincts to ensure a successful collaboration that brings your musical vision to life.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Distressor, Apollo Twin, UAD Sphere, Macbook Pro, Tegeler Creme
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career journey in music production and sound engineering has been both diverse and enriching. It all began with an internship at a production company in Buenos Aires, where I discovered my passion for mixing. This initial experience laid the foundation for my formal education in music production at Oral Roberts University, where I played a pivotal role in the production team. Here, I honed my skills and gained valuable experience in music production. One of the highlights of my journey was my role as a Production Assistant with Marcos Witt, where I not only assisted in concert setup and stage management but also had the privilege of learning from a multiple Grammy Award-winning Audio Engineer, Abraham Martinez. My work at Ret Tree Recording Studio and experiences with ORU Production and Hossanna Woodlands further expanded my expertise in live sound engineering and studio production, including analog equipment setup. My production internship at Animal Music in Buenos Aires polished my skills in sound effects production and mixing, equipping me with proficiency in Pro Tools. These experiences have collectively shaped me into a versatile sound engineer with a strong foundation in both live and studio production. I've been on this journey for a significant period, and each experience has contributed to my expertise, enabling me to meet and exceed expectations for the final product in the music industry.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style can be described as versatile and adaptable. I have the ability to cater to the unique needs of each artist and project, ensuring that I bring out the best in the music while providing a signature touch that aligns with the artist's vision.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd be keen to work with Tame Impala, primarily because I'm fascinated by Kevin Parker's hands-on approach to music production. His DIY ethos and ability to craft intricate sonic experiences independently are aspects I find intriguing and would like to explore collaboratively.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Certainly! One valuable music production tip I'd share is to never underestimate the power of experimentation. While having a solid production process is crucial, don't be afraid to push the boundaries, try unconventional techniques, and explore new sonic territories. Sometimes, it's those unexpected creative choices that lead to the most remarkable and distinctive musical outcomes.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I have experience working with a diverse range of music genres, including Rock, Country, Hip-Hop, Worship, Pop, Electronic, and House.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is the ability to craft a signature sound for each artist, driven by a commitment to treating every project as a unique and individual endeavor.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a unique blend of experience, precision, and creativity to every song. My commitment to treating each project individually, avoiding repetition in plugin usage, allows me to provide a signature sound for each artist. It's about delivering the utmost in audio quality and making your music sound exactly as you envision it.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical work process involves a well-defined template that helps maintain efficiency and speed in my workflow. However, I approach each mix with a fresh perspective, ensuring that no two projects are treated the same. I intentionally avoid using the same set of plugins for every mix. This not only keeps me engaged creatively but also allows me to provide a unique and signature sound tailored to each artist's individual style and vision. Every project deserves its own sonic identity, and I'm dedicated to making that a reality.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: In my studio, I've curated a setup that emphasizes quality and efficiency. I rely on Adam 5-inch speakers and Sennheiser HD 650 headphones for precision. What anchors my studio is the Apollo Twin X Quad interface, renowned for its pristine audio quality and low-latency performance. I complement this with a comprehensive arsenal of plugins, including UAD Ultimate, Waves, iZotope, Kush, Oxford, and the finest Plugin Alliance plugins. With this equipment, I ensure your music is handled with the same level of professionalism as the industry's most serious engineers. It's not about being different; it's about achieving the highest standards in audio production.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I draw inspiration from a diverse range of musicians and music production professionals who have made significant contributions to the industry. Some of the artists and professionals who have inspired me include: 1. Brian Eno: His pioneering work in ambient music and production techniques has been a constant source of inspiration for me. 2. These individuals have not only shaped the way I approach music production but also encouraged me to explore new horizons and think outside the box in my work. Their dedication to pushing the boundaries of sound and their commitment to artistic excellence continue to motivate me in my own musical journey.
