"Making your vision come to life, while giving you a mix that sounds great in today's market."
Hi, my name is Chase Van Leeuwen, I am a Certified Audio Engineer, Artist and Producer who equally loves making music as much as making sound quality exceed industry standard. I have been in the professional music industry for 13+ years, I graduated from SAE Institute of Atlanta with 2 recommendation letters from industry engineers Scott Kieklak (DMX, Beyonce, Lil Kim, Shakira & many more) & Louis Alfred III (Notorious B.I.G., Boyz II Men, Mobb Deep & many more). I have worked at the top studios in Atlanta as a staff engineer and have worked with many independent/major clients, giving them all the same care and quality. What sets me apart from the rest is I am also a musician so I know how it feels to be on the other side of the glass and wanting the best for your passion. Interview with Van Leeuwen
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it this not super intricate & close to rocket science. If you want someone who will half ass your job, there's $100 engineer willing to hook you up!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: If thats what you're hiring someone for, thats where you've already messed up. But you see its A1 as in picture above. But I only got to these top, major, million dollar studios by making mixes sound just as good for radio in home studios.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Def Jam Recordings artist Trap Beckham's new single 'Lil Booties Matter" (over 3 million and counting) getting to record/co-mix that record was a blessing for sure.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My own
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I specialize in Hip-hop/R&B but I love and have worked on all types of music
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: The magic that has already been put there by the artist and give it the sound they are looking for while making sure it sounds just as good if not better than professional releases you will hear on the radio.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My ear & mixing skills
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 15 years music is my life
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I currently just got finished mixing the youtube sensation's "2oK" new project after finishing up there last one that got millions of views last year
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: All of it!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Know what you're paying for. Listen to their previous works and ask yourself "does this sound like its up to par with whats on the radio?"
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Making your vision come life, while giving you a mix that sounds great in today's market.
