Who TF is Tyler Jay

Hi, I’m Tyler Jay, a songwriter, music producer, artist, and engineer with a passion for creating raw, honest music that truly connects. I got my start at Musicians Institute in 2014, where I studied Audio Engineering and the Independent Artist Program under legends like Barry Rudolph. I’ve always had the vision and drive to do everything myself—the sky is the limit. Shortly after, I joined the iconic Sound Matrix Studios in Santa Ana. It didn’t take long before I was handed the keys and started running the recording studio myself.

From there, I had the incredible opportunity to head to Avignon, France, where I studied and worked under legendary producer Andy Wallace, known for his work with Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold, A Day to Remember, and many more. That experience shaped the way I approach every project—with intention, emotion, and clarity.

In 2015, I played keys and guitar alongside my brother with the Bakersfield reggae band Amity Flow, which I also co-produced. We shared the stage with artists like Passafire, Eli Mac, Tribal Seeds, The Wailers, and many more. After that, I played bass alongside various country artists, expanding my range and live performance experience.

In 2018, I released my single “Nashville,” which went on to win my first Songwriters Award through Academia. Today, I run a boutique home studio in Seal Beach, California.
