Endorse Aymeric CrussonInterview with Aymeric Crusson
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, I really love older music like Michael Jackson and ABBA for example. We're living in the digital world right now but we can still use analog gear to get that feeling for the 70's or 80's back. I would still recommend to try different ways of making music
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'll try the best I can to get the clients happy. I want to grow from it myself but I also want someone else to be very happy with it.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: As a student I'm not having my full income in music yet. The thing I really love about this business is that I'm really enjoying music. I love making it, listening to it, watching other producers make it and going to concerts to see my favourite artist perform. That's music for me.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to the music the provider is making, maybe ask for even more previews to know what they're making. Having a strong vision of what you want is really important. Don't leave it too open for the producer. What do you want? Soundbetter is great for creating something together.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I'm making music for 5 years now. I have a few months left at my Music School in Amsterdam. After that I would love to get a publishing deal to work towards my goals and get a stable income from making music for other people.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with the Swedish Pop group 'HOV1". I really love their songs and how to create a nostalgic feeling while using the bare minimum of gear.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't think too much while starting a song, enjoy the process while having your perfectionism on the side for a bit :)
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Most of the times I'm starting the song by having the main element right away. It's easier for me to build around that than struggling with finding the sound that reflects the song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm having my own treated studio with GIK Acoustic panels, PMC speakers, Neumann subwoofer, Apollo Twin X and a Jupiter X to get the best results I can.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love the productions from producers like Louis Bell, Charlie Puth, Swedish House Maffia and Ian Kirkpatrick. Main artists who inspire me are Hov1, Niall Horan, Bad Bunny and The Weeknd for example. I get inspired by so many different genres.
