30+ years making music. Mixer, remixer, producer and guitarist, specialized in metal and hard rock.
Welcome to my profile! I'm the owner of Soundpact, a small company and music project dedicated to mixing and remixing for rock and metal bands. I also play the guitar, produce my own music and remixes.
I began my musical journey in 1995 as the guitarist for a Slovak thrash/death metal band. While playing with the band, I developed an interest in live sound and audio recording. My first studio experience revealed a clear passion for sound engineering.
In 2005, after playing guitar for two other bands, I decided to study audio engineering at SAE Institute in Barcelona. Armed with a diploma in audio engineering by 2007, I started mixing for local bands, improving my mixing and mastering skills. Simultaneously, I worked on his my music productions, blending metal and electronic music, and participated in various mixing and remix contests. Additionally, I also gained experience with music licensing.

Interview with Fran Sopko
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Remix of the Celldweller's song "Breakout". I consider it my best work so far, I really enjoyed doing all the production and recording guitars and I also learned a lot of production tricks.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Christina Aguilera and Celldweller cover songs.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm just starting here, soon I'll be able to recommend someone for sure.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, because I'm not rich yet.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: No promises, just a delivery as agreed.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creativity
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: I want to sound like Metallica. No, sorry.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Making a song sound good doesn't make it a better song.

A: MacBook Pro, a solar panel, headphones, food and beer :-)

Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Blend of metal and electronic music.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Celldweller, because I wanted to do the same thing 30 years ago and I didn't have the courage or resources to start.
