  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: getting my name out there so I can work with my great people!

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: not personally... but I have friends who know Ash Gale and he does a great job from what I've heard of his work.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: both is good! both have pros and cons. I like the hybrid workflow!

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: to always try and help them get the most out of their song/product. to have a great time creating and to help them have a great product to share at the end.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: working with music, audio and people!

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: do you have access to session musicians - Yes I do. I have access to almost any instrument session muso you might need! Drums to keyboards, guitars to vocals, pianos and organs to violins and trumpets

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: interesting question...not sure??

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: what is your target end result and what is the timeline you have to work with?

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: look for someone who has high attention to detail and wants to create a great product with you. not just someone after your $$$

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: iMac, Monitors, guitar, U87, interface

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: 10 Years. I found a computer with Logic on it in high school which lit a fire when I realised I could record my bands for free. from there I did as much work experience as I could while studying at SAE. and from then I have just been working away in the industry. from mixing shows, to installing equipment in schools and venues to mixing and recording in my home studio.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: heaps of swagger hahaha!

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: LAEL, Bobby Strand. Both I have looked up to for a long time. they are super creative and I love what they produce.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: focus on getting good performances from the artist or talent and always fix the problem at the source. don't try fix issues in the mix.

  29. Q: What's your typical work process?

  30. A: all depends on what I'm hired for. but usually I try to have a listen to a clients previous work so I can hear their sound and know what direction to head in

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: singer songwriter, acoustic. pop, rock, country, CCM

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Engineering & Mixing. I love finding the best sounds and getting the best performances. And then bringing it all together in the mix.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I like to work on the positives and see how we can hero them. I try not to waste time on what's not working. Its always easier to vibe and stay positive towards a song that way.

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: Currently my iMac, Protools, Audient interface and Pres, Mostly in the box for processing (for now). Adam T7s, u87 and a few other staples. Martin 000X1 for acoustic and a Stratocaster with some pedals and HX Stomp for amp sims if clients don't have an amp.

  40. A: CLA, Chris Greely, Bobby Strand, LAEL,

  41. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  42. A: Take their recordings and turn them into full, punchy mixes ready for mastering and audiences to listen.
