Would love to help with your songs lyrically and melodically. Can also produce demos if needed for extra cost. Not a session singer...will need your recorded vocal.

Interview with Matt Armstrong

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I produced a song called Confidence by Sanctus Real that was a top 10 on christian radio. Was my first song I co wrote and produced that ever did well on radio...so it was a proud moment for me on a professional level.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: Come with your song ideas and or pieces of your song. I can sing...but I don't have the best vocal...at least I think...so be prepared to cut a vocal at home or somewhere.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: Been at it 8 years as a signed writer. However, I've been writing since I was 15 for bands etc.

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: I love writing with churches because I get to see the fruit of my labor in the way of a congregation engaging in it...and it's very rewarding.

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: Don't over think it. If it sounds good leave it alone.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: Christian/Worship is my favorite...but have done sync a bit as well.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: I think my strongest skill is Lyric and knowing how to tie in the main hook.

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: Topline and melody. I typically love to show up with a few ideas.

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: I have a small writing room off the back of my house where I have a studio set up as well. I use an Apollo Twin and Yamaha HS8's. It's a great creative space...I mainly work in Pro Tools. But I can dabble in logic...

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: Ed Cash, Rob Thomas, Ed Sheeran, Brian Johnson.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: I typically help with topline lyric and melody. And then contribute to the demo in the end of a session.
