I specialise in combining timeless pop sensibilities with alternative and eclectic flavours, to bring out the unique elements in every mix. With tricks and techniques learnt from Paul Epworth, Mark Ronson and Ben Baptie, I'm ready to elevate your tracks so they reach their full potential!
I cut my teeth as an in-house engineer at Metropolis Studios in London, working alongside legends (past and future) and soaked up knowledge, techniques and philosophies from every session, recording and mixing a huge variety of musical styles and genres. I've got hands on experience with all of the gear and microphones we now all use as plugins, so I know how it all works! Record + Mix credits include The Rolling Stones, Vangelis, Wiz Khalifa, Clean Bandit, K Koke.
I then took my skills into the world of music technology and worked with artists, labels, mastering engineers and streaming services to deliver music in the highest possible quality to fans. Collaborations and partnerships include Black Sabbath, Theon Cross, Jazz re:freshed, Hospital Records and Bob Ludwig. Combining this broader industry experience with my studio upbringing gives me a unique perspective and a rounded approach to my work, allowing me to really consider how your music will translate to different audiences on different devices in different playback environments.
Every track is unique and deserves a fresh approach. I look forward to hearing which direction you want your music to take and working together to achieve your vision.

Interview with Ben Zushi-Rhodes
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: An open mind!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I'm constantly searching for and discovering music from all eras and genres, and I bring that eclectic ear to every song. Keeping my inspirations fresh ensures I don't get stuck in one sound and enables me to approach each song with a clean slate and hone in on the artist's vision.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Experimentation! It can be in the analogue or digital world, but adding a 'homemade' effect to an important instrument or element in the song can make it stand out. I like taking a delay or reverb and then putting that through another effect, like re-amping through a guitar amp, or flipping that and distorting/altering (somehow!) the instrument before sending it to the reverb or delay.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: It's really hard to narrow this down! To name a few oldies, Steve Albini for perfectly capturing raw emotion and some of my favourite ever guitar sounds, Massive Attack for combining disparate musical styles so effortlessly, dub pioneers like King Tubby and Scientist for inventing some of the best and most influential FX and mix techniques, alongside artists like Radiohead, Outkast, Cocteau Twins, J Dilla, Joni Mitchell, Low, Yo La Tengo, and on and on. Thinking more present day, special mentions go to Rosalía, Shabaka Hutchings, Aldous Harding, Sleaford Mods, Solange, Khruangbin, and producers/engineers like Charlotte Adigéry, Robert Glasper, Ben Baptie, Kevin Parker (Tame Impala).
