I have recorded trumpet/flugelhorn for over 100 released songs and play professionally in live bands with styles such as jazz, pop, hip hop, afro beat, reggae and progressive rock in Sweden and Denmark. I offer arrangements, layers of trumpets/flugelhorns and improvised solos.
I record professional improvised or written horn parts for your song. With over 8 years of studio work experience I am easy to communicate with, flexible and quick to deliver! I am also composing for my own jazz quintet and have arranged for both horn sections and string sections. I also have the possibility to arrange a recording for a full horn section.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am extremely proud of Isildurs Banes In Disequilibrium where I had the possibility to write string arrangements for some of the tracks as well as recording trumpet and flugelhorn. It was a big honor to be on that album!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment I am working on finishing one commissioned composing project for films of Swedish nature and cities in Halland and I am working hard on finishing my own album with my jazz quintet.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No I don't know anyone personally and that is a shame!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I love analog and digital. Digital and analog can do very different things, let's remember that.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will do my best to bring what you want but with my own personal touch.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love to meet new people, to travel and most of all to work with my biggest passion in life music.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you play two trumpets at the same time? And I am sorry, I cannot. Let's do an overdub instead.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Sometimes people thinks I am only jazz player, but I really love all kinds of music.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What kind of sound do you want? Do you have references? Do you want me to write an arrangement or do you want me to improvise and fill in the gaps?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't be afraid to reach out and discuss, even if you don't know exactly what you want.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I would bring my trumpet, computer, Aston Spirit, audio interface and my Nord Electro 5D. With these I think I could produce an outstanding desert island album.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I am one year into my career as a freelance musician. I am mostly doing live work but also some commissioned recording, writing and arranging. Before my freelance career I studied jazz/improvisation at Malmö Music Conservatory.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as a Scandinavian jazz sound with a touch of rock and pop.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Swedish Band Little Dragon because of their unique blend of electronic and acoustic sounds in a pop context. It's creative, groovy and I can really hear how a trumpet with EFX could fit in that kind of sound world.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Probably everybody knows this. But to get a warm and whispering trumpet sound, place the mic closer to the bell and play as softly as you can.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: My own music is mostly jazz or experimental, but I regularly work on reggae, soul and pop productions of high quality as well.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My creativity and playfulness as both an improviser and arranger. And I always love to work with new music.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always bring my personal sound and my creativity as an arranger and improviser!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Of course my work process is different depending on what the artist wants. Sometimes I make up horn parts on the spot and sometimes I write out arrangements in sheet music beforehand. And sometimes I just improvise if that what fits the track.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I usually use an Aston Spirit and a focusrite interface.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I admire lots of great jazz musicians and trumpet players such as Clark Terry, Ambrose Akinmusire, Ingrid Jensen. I also enjoy music with an electronic touch such as Jon Hassel and bands like Hiatus Kaiyote.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most commonly I get asked to play melodies because of my broad dark sound on trumpet or I get asked to play solos because of my knowledge in jazz and improvisation.
