I really like expanding on creative projects others have already creatively engaged with, which is exactly what mixing is for me. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in my services!
Hey,
I'm Lukas and I have a Bachelors degree in music design at State University of Music Trossingen in the south of Germany.
Hire me for remote mixing/mastering or editing jobs!
Starting off as a guitarist and pianist in my high school band, I have worked on countless projects including a six month internship at TRIXX Studios in Berlin, where I have worked with artists such as Max Prosa, Ezhel, futurebae, Tropikel Ltd. and Roy Bianco & The Abbrunzati Boys as well as Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X.
I am also currently working on a few film projects in cooperation with the film university Ludwigsburg, such as "ANNA - Tales for tomorrow" (2023, foley sound) and "Ich bin der Architekt meines Lebens (2023, recording, score mixing, film mixing)". I was also a assistant score mixer for the short film "Bloody Fury" (2023).
I'm looking forward to your message. See you soon!
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.
Interview with Lukas Huber
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a treated room with Neumann KH310 speakers which sound amazing. Perfect for mixing!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm mostly inspired by people I know personally.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most often I record and write songs with my clients. I also really like to mix pre-done projects as I feel like I do best in enhancing work others have already spend time with.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am especially proud of the releases of my band "Mirage Trio" since I played the guitar on it and wrote the songs together with two of my best friends. This music is quite close to my heart.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on a new EP with my band "Mirage Trio".
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I really like working with analog equipment and the sound is not the only reason. I feel like I can more easily focus on the sound when I'm not looking at a screen and therefore make more informed decisions in the mixing process.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: As a mixing engineer I love to be (almost) at the end of the chain. When I am done with the project, it is really close to be finished and it will sound very good. That is really inspiring to me as opposed to being an editor for example that will rarely hear the finished product.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Anderson.Paak as his productions have a sound that I personally like. Especially the drums sound amazing! But it is hard to pick one person here as there is enjoyment to be found in all projects if you really search for it!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't do anything because "that's the way to do it".
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Most of my colleagues would most likely but me in the band music context as I love working on soul bands, singer-songwriter or jazz projects. I really enjoy working on electronic genres such as trap or drum n bass as well!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My work is really diverse. Rarely do I write songs in the same genre, and I also work in film postpro. I have procedures I am using most of the time, but I am also quite flexible to adapt to any given job.
