Interview with Ismael Salguero

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I recently worked producing and arranging keyboards and different types of synthesizers for a band from my city called Prana. I love their music and the result we came up with.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I promise to deliver a professional work according to the references and aesthetics we are looking for your music.

  5. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  6. A: whether I work remotely or face-to-face. I work both ways

  7. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  8. A: it is not a misunderstanding, but sometimes it is difficult to explain to non-musicians what the work as a music producer implies, since it includes several tasks and objectives that we must fulfill with the musicians (choosing where to record, how, when, where, choosing sounds, structures, etc...). it is a great job and I am happy to be able to do it.

  9. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  10. A: What kind of music do they make? What kind of service do they need and what is their deadline?

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  13. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  14. A: Currently mixing the new album from an indie band called Mizuki Amapola, and recording synths for a few songs from a pop band called Prana, here in my city.

  15. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  24. A: A piano, a computer, headphones, a Shure sm7b, and an audio interface UAD Apollo Twin.

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
