If I can tell you a secret... I'm not an amazing singer.

I feel like I have a nice voice, and I'm extremely passionate about making pop music, but I've never been the guy to practice classical technique or nail every note of pitch and timing.

This is actually somehow my secret weapon. I've learned to produce shiny, polished pop songs with bulletproof hooks, and I studied at the Max Martin school of vocal mixing. I'll sit there in the studio for hours to make sure that when the final song hits streaming, I can end up sounding like a million bucks.

I comp many takes together, align timing, add manual pitch correction via Melodyne, and give it that pop sound with Autotune. Combine this with the right combination of EQ, dynamics processing, and arrangement, and I've brought my and others' singing up to a radio-ready standard.

I mix and master all of my own tracks too. Getting a vocal to sit right in the mix and making sure it has that loud snap a good pop song needs without drowning you out is just as important as getting your pitch and timing flawless.
