A: I am also a vocalist and an instrumentalist, so I understand the entirety of the mix as a musician also, not just an engineer.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: 1) Listen. I always listen through the track to discover it's purpose and find the parts that should be featured on top of the mix as hooks to best serve the song. 2) Production. I will begin crafting the sound of the track based on the lyrical and musical direction the artist hopes to see the song go. 3) Mixing. I will mix the song to taste and provide a maximum of 3 revisions based on the artists feedback, not including the first initial mix down.
