Interview with Arato di Soli

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I produced and mixed a single for an indie pop artist that hit over 500k streams. I’m proud because it started as a simple voice note and turned into something that connected with thousands of people.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I’m currently producing an EP for an upcoming R&B artist and mixing a few pop tracks for independent singers.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Yes — a few vocalists and session musicians I’ve collaborated with who consistently deliver great performances.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both! I love the warmth of analog gear but the flexibility of digital. I use a hybrid approach to get the best of both worlds.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise clear communication, top-quality sound, and 100% dedication to your vision until you’re fully satisfied.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Helping artists bring their ideas to life and watching their excitement when they hear their finished song for the first time.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Most ask: “Can you make my song sound professional?” My answer: Absolutely — with clear communication and good performances, I’ll make sure your track stands out sonically and emotionally.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That producers just "add beats" — real production involves emotion, structure, and helping artists discover their sound.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I ask about their artistic influences, project goals, target audience, and what emotions they want listeners to feel.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Look for someone who listens carefully to your vision and communicates clearly throughout the process. Chemistry matters as much as skill.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: MacBook Pro, Apollo Twin, Neumann TLM 103, Yamaha HS5s, and my Fender Stratocaster.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started as a musician playing guitar and producing for local artists. Over the past 8 years, I’ve evolved into a full-time producer and mixer working with artists worldwide.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Modern, clean, and emotional — I like to blend organic textures with digital precision to create something timeless yet fresh.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with Kali Uchis — her blend of genres and artistic vision align perfectly with my production style.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Always focus on the vocal. No matter how big the production is, the emotion and clarity of the vocal will make or break the song.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Mostly pop, R&B, and Latin urban music, but I’m comfortable working across genres when the song has emotion and potential.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is turning ideas into cohesive, professional productions that highlight the artist’s voice and style.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring clarity, emotion, and commercial appeal — making sure the song connects with listeners and sounds competitive on any platform.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I usually start by discussing the client’s vision and reference tracks. Then I create a rough demo, build the arrangement, add production layers, and finally mix and master the track.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work in a hybrid studio setup with a UAD Apollo interface, a Neumann TLM 103 mic, Yamaha HS8 monitors, and a collection of analog gear for warmth. I use Ableton Live and Pro Tools as my main DAWs.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I’m inspired by producers like FINNEAS, Timbaland, and Tainy — they all have a unique sound and a great sense of storytelling through production.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I’m inspired by producers like FINNEAS, Timbaland, and Tainy — they all have a unique sound and a great sense of storytelling through production.
