Multi Instrumentalist performer with studio and mixing experience from many different bands and projects.

I, Luke, have played and mixed sound for 100+ shows as a drummer, and dozens of shows as a guitarist/singer/keyboardist.

I have also helped record, mix and master several songs for each of these projects.
My desire is to help make a new and exciting sound profile UNIQUE to an individual.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Releasing my own music because I had control over every sonic decision.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: A live album for a band in Colorado and some video/sound design work

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: digital because cheaper and convenient for the same outcome Analog because reliability and ill be damned if I have to sign up for another 'subscription service'

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I will teach you things if you ask questions.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Uhh, music everyday all day.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: That its not possible for anyone to achieve.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: Who are your inspirations and what is a reference track you want to use as a guide? do you want to collab?

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Save up a bit of money and look at it as an investment into yourself. If you put in effort into yourself you will be pleased when you look back 6 months and see growth rather than investments into nothing creative.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: If just for fun a :Zoom h4n hand held record (works as a mic and an interface) to get some great field recordings a solar battery a laptop a guitar bongos If for real: tent, axe, paracord, giant clear plastic paper for rain and condensation collection, and a magnifying glass

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: 6+ years of prog rock drumming, 3 of those years laying down tracks. My solo adventure as an artist started in 2020, so 3 years. totally 9 years of playing and 6 years of tracking and mixing.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: Chill.

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: Realistically id like to work with Gozie Ukaga, Wealthy Relative, Bird Bass and any other artist thats influential and local.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: For an hourly rate, yes. Just kidding! Ask away and ill point you to someone who can answer. My favorite tip for music production might be 'less is more' in almost all scenarios.

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: Indie artist or typical 4 piece rock/punk bands. I have produced Hip Hop briefly though.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: My strongest skill currently is laying down a drum track because of my years of drumming. Though, mixing and mastering has become a strong skill of mine as well.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: I can offer vocals, accompaniment of guitars, pianos (literal baby grand piano) and years of song writing.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: Usually I work in 3 day stints. Day 1 and 2 are feedback and deep dive time, and Day 3 is final touches and wrap up.

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: I have many acoustic instruments including several guitars, several bass guitars, a baby grand piano and a few drum sets. For mixing and mastering I have a home studio, Sennheiser headphones and a remote studio I use for reference/bass mixing.

  39. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  40. A: DIY musicians local to the music scene in Minneapolis MN are my main inspirations.

  41. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  42. A: I usually am Mixing and Mastering files that someone recorded on their own or with me in a small studio space that I have available to me.
