I am leader and lead singer of the Georgia band GALLEON and am available to sing on others' projects in the Stone Mountain/Pine Lake area ... I catch people's attention with my voice!
I have been singing professionally throughout my adult life, starting in 1974 with a Brooklyn band called Time of Survival. I studied voice for five years and piano for three. I am a second tenor with a melodic range of over two octaves, a dynamic range from whisper to holler, and an emotional range that is both on and off the charts! I have sung all contemporary styles, but my preferences are melodic rock, folk-rock, modern country, and real singers' songs. Give me a chance and I can improve the sound of your recordings and live performances.
As 2023 winds down I would like to personally thank all those who were kind enough to vote for GALLEON in the Opening Act musical competition. I am proud that we advanced to the fourth round of voting. Unfortunately we did not place high enough in the voting to advance to the fifth round, but again, thank you all for your kind and strong support, and as they say in baseball, WAIT TIL' NEXT YEAR!
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Interview with E.C. MICHAELS
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First I figure out what the client needs. Then I figure out the best way to attain this goal. Finally I work my darnedest to get it done!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Re-forming my band GALLEON, getting us back out in the clubs, and making a top-quality record of our best music.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not yet, but I hope that will come as we go along.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: A combination of the two seems to work best with me.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To do my best for them and help them attain their goals.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: An excellent finished product, and having it pay off with true success.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it is easy or that anyone can do it. No, it takes talent, which you either do or don't have; skills, which are taught, learned and practiced; and of course, perseverance and patience ... it doesn't happen overnight!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are you trying to say in your music? How do you wish to proceed, and can you be flexible with me?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Take your music seriously and be willing to make it the best it can be.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My brain, my guitar, a digital recorder, and a pen and paper.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been singing my entire adult life. Early on I studied both voice and piano but now I concentrate on singing and writing.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Demanding but patient.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make your lofty artistic statement, but do so in a way that makes the listener want to hear it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: All contemporary styles, but I preferences are for melodic rock, folk-rock, modern country, and REAL SINGERS' SONGS.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Singing! I can sing either lead or harmony.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Inspiration and improvement. I can take sub-par, lousy material and re-tool it to make it far better. I strive for improvement and excellence.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Anyone and everyone from Anthony Newley to G.G. Allin, but my music, sound and style are my own and no one else's.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I sing and write songs, as well as occasional consulting on sound mixing.
