I’m an Alternative Pop Mixer and Sound Programmer from the Netherlands, focused on alternative and electronic pop music. My broad background in both music production and love for emotional sound design allows me to shape mixes that feel true to the artist’s vision.
Together with my colleagues Paul and Ico, I run Lake Woozoo, a production house and music studio in the Netherlands. I specialize in mixing and sound programming, with a focus on alternative pop and electronic pop. For me, the most important part of mixing (besides the technical aspects) is understanding and feeling the core of the song, the emotional message of the artist, and enhancing that essence in the mix.
My passion for unique sounds and catchy hooks began in the '90s, when I discovered electronic genres such as ambient, indie pop, hip-hop, and techno.
Fascinated by effect processors, synthesizers, drum machines, and everything else that's quirky and full of character, I developed a strong interest in sound programming. I began blending my electronic music with other genres, which led to teaming up with my dear friends Ico Balt and Paul Maaswinkel in 2007. Together, we started co-writing and producing music in various genres for clients such as Universal Music and Sony/BMG.
During this time, we also launched Pelican Sessions (105k followers), a YouTube live session channel where I continue to handle mixing and engineering.
Today, we are strongly focused on producing alternative pop music and helping artists take the next step in fully professionalizing their careers.
