Catalin Ratoi, artist name Piano Path is a pianist/composer/producer from Romania. He blends elements
from classical music with pop and a dash of jazz & rock. His music can be called ambient, intimate or cinematic, inspired by certain feelings, thoughts or places.
The main instrument is the piano, played solo but also sometimes with orchestral parts played in a classic or electronic manner.
Catalin is born in 1977 and plays the piano since 6 years old. He was involved in many bands as a keyboard player, most of them rock bands but also in the last 10 years he played in cover bands, weddings, and private events. He also played piano solo before the band show, or at different small venues.
As a pianist, he had t great pleasure to listen to the classics Bach, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, and Liszt but also Chick Corea, Vangelis, and Jonah Nilsson, but these are not far the only influences on his music.
As a keyboard player, he was influenced by rock keyboard players such as Richard Wright, Keith Emerson, and Jordan Rudess but again the list is much bigger, music is so huge and a lot of valuable and great players had a touch of influence on Catalin's style. Another musical inspiration was from the great pop pianos
players like Steve Porcaro, Elton John, Billy Joel & Stevie Wonder, and many many others.
