Guitar Production & Mixing

Chris Jacobson on SoundBetter

Production & Mixing with a Guitar-First Approach. I help artists and creators elevate their music through professional production and mixing, with a deep specialization in guitar-driven sound. My approach is always song-first—serving the emotion, arrangement, and impact of your track, not just the tones.

With over 20 years of experience in studio recording, performing, and touring, I bring a seasoned, musical perspective to every project. As a guitarist, I have a strong ear for how guitars should sit in a mix, interact with other instruments, and support the song as a whole—whether that means refining existing parts or adding new ones when necessary.

My services include:

Music production (arrangement, tone shaping, creative direction)
Mixing (EQ, compression, spatial effects, automation, stems)
Guitar-focused production and sound design
Guitar tracking when needed to support the production or mix
Re-amping and tone enhancement for existing guitar tracks

I work on singles, EPs, albums, and creative projects, and I’m especially experienced in rock, pop, folk, country, and indie, with additional work across funk, blues, reggae, hip-hop, and heavier genres.

Collaboration is central to my process. We can work via email and/or Zoom to define references, goals, and workflow, ensuring clarity at every stage. Deliverables include high-quality WAV files and stems, ready for release or further production.

If you’re looking for a producer or mixer who understands guitar at a deep level, but prioritizes the song above all else, I’d love to hear about your project.
