My co-writer, Lisa, and I worked for our first time with Chila on a new song with an Alicia Key's vibe. To say that Chila nailed it would be an understatement. She is an exceptional talent and an exceptional professional who was not only wonderful to work with, but brought such inspiration and professionalism to our song. We could not be happier with her work and plan to knock on her door again. Thank you Chila!

Interview with Chila Lynn

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My new music. Starting with my new single ''Unleash Mode'' and all that is coming out soon. I've always dreamed about coming to the US and try my music here so I am very grateful that despite all the challenging adventure that coming here has been, I am glad that I finally decided to do it. You can stream my new music on every music platform on the planet. Thanks a lot to everybody that is supporting me on this new chapter and please stay tuned with all and before finishing this up, thank you SoundBetter for this platform, where I can do music with all this incredible and talented people.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: My new music coming soon and a lot of collabs with more people.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Can't give you names cause i don't want anybody feels left out, but I would say anybody that is serious, commited and profesional.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital. You can't fight the progress.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Give them what they ask for.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: How infinite music is.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: They ask ''How fast can you do have it done?'' my answer is always as fast as you tell me.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Sorry, I've never had one of those.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: They normally give me all the details of what they want most of times, but if I see some kind of doubt in their resolution I just ask questions to help them clarify they goal. What is it exactly what you need me to do? and things like that.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Most important of all to need to have a very good work ethic and all that that entails.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: I think i would take a boat, a piano, an electric generator, a water desalination machine, a tent, things like that.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: Well I hate to talk about myself but actually I am very grateful for my career path, I started to study classical piano when I was 5 at music school in my hometown, Havana, Cuba. I finished my studies in Europe, I got signed for the first time at 19 in Spain, so I was recording my first album ''Real Woman'' with my first label while finishing my studies. I started to write songs when I was 13 but for my first album I got songs from amazing artists like Pink, Jill Scott and James Morrison so I decided to postpone my songs, give those my personal touch and sing them proudly. You can't say no to those people. I've worked with Disney (the princes and the frog Spanish version) and went for touring with my first album, recorded my second album ''Amor y Miel'' and toured again, I had my premiere as a songwriter with that second one and also collaborate with amazing songwriters and singers from the latin world like Pablo Milanes, Omara Portuondo, Leoni Torres, Pavel Nuñez. I've shared stage at massive events with Alejandro Sanz, Alicia Keys and David Guetta. I just moved to the states and I started the process with my first single inside the US called ''Unleash Mode'' and all I've had so far is great feedback. I've done fashion with Bazaar Mag, Elle, Vanity Fair, Shangay Mag, they all interviewed me as an artist. The fact that you can google me as an artist and have more info honestly means the world for a cuban girl with this big dream. So I can literally confirm you that I've been doing this and living for this my whole life.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: I am very honest. I have a very ''what you hear is what it is'' style. Beside that I feel my style is fresh, free and strong.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Well obviously, if it was possible I would love to work with all my favorite artists from all time that I mentioned in the question above but I am going to add Silk Sonic, Charlie Puth and Jacob Collier to that list. Summing up the truth is I am always open to collaborate, specially with anybody I can respect as a musician. I also find very interesting the work with djs, David Guetta and Martin Garrix are always getting my attention.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Make sure you see the music, not only hear it.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I am a Pop/R&B/Latin Artist but with music nothing scares me. I am always up to the next challenge.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Music.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Everything I have inside and outside. A song is everything.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Is different every time. All i can say is that it flows depending on the goal we have to reach.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: Protools, Logic. Neumann mics, a lot of keyboards.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: My favorite artists from all time are Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Brian McKnight and Boyz to Men.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I am a singer and songwriter, I am also a pianist so basically I put all the knowledge and skills I have to give them what they are looking for.
