Multilayered soundscapes or soaring sonorous cello parts. Improvised, created, recorded. Original creations, collaborations or scored recordings. I can arrange for strings, remote record multiple cello parts or create ambient soundscapes for your project.
I've collaborated with singer song-writers, recorded on film scores and created music for multidisciplinary creative space events.
I play...authentically.
My sound is…relaxed, syrupy, earnest.
My happy place is…
Writing and recording multiple (soaring, melodic) cello parts or creating multilayered (pulsating, shimmering) soundscapes from scratch.
I am most comfortable…
Creating in the moment and multilayered cello music.
Recording film scores or full blown cello arrangements.
Revamping a well known classic or coming up with original soundscape snapshots.
I would be very happy to…
Have my original soundscape snapshot creations used for film or other performance based art forms. If your project could do with this kind of soundtrack, please do get in touch!
I am particularly interested in…
Transcribing, recording and performing plant generated music. If you're involved in a project like this, please do get in touch!
I have enjoyed…writing, recording, gigging, touring, creating, collaborating, improvising, experimenting.
I love…creating multilayered, looped soundscapes (sound art).
I particularly love…bringing creative disciplines together into a creative space (a live sound art installation). Composing and performing live with a professional dancer is on my to do list. If you are a movement artist, you are welcome to get in touch.

Miriam was incredible to work with! She was incredibly intuitive to what the song needed and delivered a very quick turn around time. Would definitely work with again and received the most beautiful cello performances from her :)

I wrote a song to which I needed the beautiful sound of a cello, I started looking for an experienced cellist... so I found Miriam... and boy, did she deliver!! I gave Miriam a short brief and a reference track, and from there I asked her to improvise and go with her gut feeling. Miriam produced absolute perfect stems in different voicings, which couldn't be more fitting to what I wanted to achieve. I am over the moon and so happy to have found her... she's just excellent!! Thank you Miriam 😊
Miriam is a fantastic cellist, when she plays she effortlessly draws the listener into her world. She plays with feeling, passion and expression. Miriam is a consummate professional and her dedication to the cello is clear to see whether it be her ability to sight read, compose arrangements or improvise. Miriam has a wealth of experience when it comes to all types of live performance or recording and she is familiar with many genres of music. I would highly recommend Miriam for any project or booking that requires a professional cellist.
Miriam has worked on a series of projects with me, and always completely knocks it out of the park. Miriam has a real depth of emotion in her performances with a warm, unique and nuanced tone in every phrase. She has been a central part of projects for me, including a quartet for a film score, to recording a collection of inspiring samples in a plethora of emotional environments. From beautiful and lyrical to edgy and bold. In both a solo and ensemble setting. I highly recommend Miriam to all looking for a Cellist.
Miriam is one of the most amazing musicians I have ever worked with. She brings out such beauty in the cello and her level of musical understanding and perception is rarely found. Miriam has recorded many cello accompaniments for my songs/albums and I am always grateful for her expert advice about arranging. She has also performed with me live, bringing confidence to me and beauty to my songs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Miriam to anyone considering adding cello to their projects.

A: Send me a recording!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been improvising and playing with others since I was 7. With a good work ethic and hunger to learn I was lucky enough to go to both the RAM and RCM. With a flair for improvisation and unique cello voice, I soon began collaborating on recording projects and arranging for singer song-writers, and larger ensembles. I now also enjoy creating my own ambient soundscapes, providing music for interdisciplinary Creative Space events and yoga retreats.

Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My style is improvisatory so I start by listening and make recorded notes of ideas, then lay them down for more listening back. Usually what comes to me first is the best main line and then I hear more parts around that starting point.

I'm thinking about music, crazy! You put some notes together and magic! I love that process where you sit down with nothing, something happens and at the end you have something: epic, intimate, tender, deep, ethereal, dramatic, funky, fun, achingly beautiful….love it! Music never fails to give 😌
