Hey! My name is Coby and I'm a professional drummer/producer based in Brooklyn, New York. The studio is my favorite place to be and I'm always excited by the opportunity to work with new artists, helping them to realize their musical dreams.
Over the past decade, I have had the privilege touring nationally as a drummer for several groups and collaborating with many artists in studios all across the country including Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA, with Grammy-nominated producer, Will Yip. In addition to providing live drums for recording projects, I have also recorded bass and guitar for several projects that I have produced. For me, the song always comes first and I am dedicated to crafting the best arrangement and delivering the performance that will suit your creative needs.
I have a wide-array vintage and modern gear including multiple drum kits, electric and acoustic guitars, and a variety of different microphones. I value open communication and I am always happy to discuss what configuration will work best for your project.
Send me a message and lets work together on your next project!

Endorse Coby HaynesCoby is an absolutely amazing musician in every sense. He is so easy to communicate with and always puts the quality and integrity of the song first. His intuition as a drummer, bassist, and producer is incredible and he is truly a pleasure to work with.
Coby is a true pro in every sense of the word. He tracked drums for our debut album and came up with perfect parts for every song. Easy to work and collab with/and a great person on top of that.
Working with Coby couldn’t be better. He works seamlessly with your projects and is our first call when it comes to tracking or gigs. Highly highly recommend.
Interview with Coby Haynes
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently, I am working on honing skills as an audio engineer and producer. I'm putting together a sample pack of drum loops and one shots featuring unique grooves and sounds.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are your creative goals? What are some musical or stylistic reference points? I really value understanding where an artist is coming from creatively so I know how I can best fit into their sonic universe.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Keep it simple! Things don't have to be complicated to feel good. Sometimes the best parts are the ones we come up with in the first few takes.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I often find myself working with alternative rock groups, though I love working with independent singer-songwriters. In the past few years I've gotten to work with R&B artists, country musicians and rappers.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like immerse myself in an artist's world. Whether I'm working on producing a track for them or just laying down drums, I'll always look to their own catalogue for inspiration. From their I'll take things to the track at hand and jam my way into some concrete parts. Once I've settled on a beat or phrase I like I'll refine until I'm happy, always making sure to keep things building throughout the song.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Live drum tracking is my bread and butter. This is my favorite kind of work to do by far. Recently, I have also been experimenting with more of a hybrid approach incorporating programmed loops and beats to mix in with live drums.
