End-to-end Creative music production studio made up of a collective roster of music creators, songwriters, composers, arrangers, engineers and producers.
At the State is Flow studio in Farringdon, London, we A&R and work with artists that we can really add value to. We're always scouting for releases that resonate with us and the wider communities and network.
We help artists with lyrics & songwriting, arrangement and instrumentation, record production, audio engineering, consultancy and next steps
We can provide in-house instrumentalists, work with artist's existing live players or recommend a very talented and experienced group of session musicians. This can be arranged remotely or in-person.
Back-end: Whilst we run sessions at a usual 50% creative split on publishing, if artists are already working with labels and distributors we can establish a rate that suits all parties. Artists then retain 100% of the masters.
Session cost also includes post-production of administration, track balancing and file delivery.

Interview with State Is Flow
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Multiple projects we're working on have been picked up by record labels with international reach - we're always proud of all music that's released from our camp, each is a triumph and a testament for getting work done.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: We love and gravitate towards all Neo-Soul / Jazzy / RnB and pop based genres, live instrumentation is at the centre of our work, and we explore ways to implement both analog and digital techniques and sounds.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Combined experiences and creative inputs from all State Is Flow members, consisting of songwriters, producers, instrumentalists, arrangers and everything in between.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Typically an artist comes to us with an idea / inspiration for a track, sometimes it's lyrics first, or chord progressions. We strip the song to it's essentials, working on lyrics and creating a solid song structure as this is the foundation of the track. Once this is accomplished, we explore the sonics of the track, and narrow down on the type of sound we're looking for, which instruments we'd use and overall production techniques for the specific song. Music production is largely the vibe and feel of the track, It's always about what the artist wants to convey, and how each sound choice resonates with and benefits with the song.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Producing songs from start to finish - artists work with us for our musicality, groove and left-of-centre ideas. It's a tailored approach, designed to make the track unique to the artists we're working with.
