Luiz Hauck

Cinematic and orchestral music

Luiz Hauck on SoundBetter

I compose high-quality orchestral compositions and do midi mockups.

Classical composer finishing a bachelor's degree in music composition. I compose especially for orchestra, piano and classical instruments in general, having experience programming midi mockups and orchestrating. Being a subscriber of the East West professional libraries and having experience producing for orchestra, I can certainly add value to your music, arranging/producing it, or to your audiovisual project, scoring the perfect music for it.

Interview with Luiz Hauck

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Specially composing sync licensable music.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Digital, I was born in the digital world, it surrounds me since I was a child. I also love the possibilities we have in electronic music, the tons of different ways to process and manipulate sound.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I can promise high-quality orchestral and cinematic music. That's what I do best.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I like composing most than anything else.

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: Nothing, I love what I do.

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: Hire a decent composer, not someone who just goes repeating patterns in the DAW.

  13. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  14. A: Well, if there was electricity, a computer, a digital piano/keyboard and a USB cable. Basically all I need.

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: I've started in music as a 7 years old child, studying guitar. Later I began a bachelor's degree in music composition, which I'm finishing now.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: Classical, cinematic.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: Film makers and others who want an orchestral arrangement carefully produced in their music.

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: Be careful to do the best in each part of the process. Great mixing can't solve composition problems. Great mastering can't solve mixing problems.

  23. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  24. A: Classical, orchestral and cinematic music in general.

  25. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  26. A: My strongest skill is composing.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: I compose the music on Sibelius and then transfer it to Reaper, where I do all the midi mockup, mixing and master.

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: I subscribe to the East West Cloud X, have a Scarlett 2i2 audio interface, a Yamaha digital piano, 2 microphones (a condenser and a dynamic)

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: I'm specially inspired by the great composers (and Bach above all).
