Interview with Subjectron
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My song "with pleasure". 80's vibe, metal, danceable, shreddy, super catchy.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Tri tip sandwich. Half way done.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Sunnie Williams. Yes.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: What? You can do both in different ways on the same recording. This question is whack. If it's guitar effects, I'm choosing analog. If it's mixing and recording, I'm choosing digital.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I promise to prioritize your song over what I want to play.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Free food
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Nobody really talks to me
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I must not care about the music because I prefer to play many notes rapidly.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What's up?, How's it going? Etc...
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just expect not to like it, but also expect some pretty intense shred.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Xbox, TV, controller, video game, porno mag.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Just started to play guitar at 14 to impress girls. It didn't work.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Aggresssive
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Yellowman. Would love to see how we would sound together.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Allow people to criticize it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Awesome music
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Dextrous ability
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Shred
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listen to the song over and over and blaze a solo over it that sounds really cool.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Home rig, presonus software. Any different guitars for the appropriate occasion
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
