I’ve had the pleasure of working with John Osborn on many occasions, both as a musician and as a producer for others, and every time, both I and my clients felt truly supported and heard. John was originally slated to only master our project, but due to our loss of a separate audio engineer, he quickly hopped on to mix the project as well. In both cases, John showed a high level of skill in his own craft, and genuine compassion in helping us along the way. He was passionate about the work--treating our album like a project of his own--and was excellent in communication (he was patient and enthusiastic in teaching us new things, us being new to music production ourselves). Working with John is both enjoyable and remarkably productive, whether in person or remotely. As an orchestrator/arranger, it's exhilarating to collaborate with an engineer who not only comprehends the musical terminology I use every day, but also has a critical ear that brings out intricate nuances in every recording that can so easily get lost in the recording process.

It gets harder to find passionate, legitimate, skilled and thoughtful musicians, engineers and audiophiles in the independent music space today, especially remotely. John embodies all of these qualities.
After meeting through social media, we quickly were working on one of my songs. He is enthusiastic about multiple genres and open to all feedback and meshes this from the artist with his own skill and ear. He made my vocals mesh perfectly with the instrumental parts. He worked efficiently and provided multiple versions of the masters after doing multiple revisions over 48 hours. Hire Him!

Our mixer suggested using John for mastering and boy did he improve our track. John took it from sounding like a fun recreational project to extremely professional. We’re yet to try anyone else for mastering and don’t plan on it so long as John’s in the industry!

Every song I’ve brought to him has become better than I ever expected it to be because of his talent and ability to take his clients ideas and expertly execute them in a polished and cohesive way.
