Are you ready to write your next hit? Let's get to work!

Formerly known as "Tucker William" - Drake Ramos has worked with artists and producers across the globe. In 2015 he self-penned is his debut single "Let Go". Produced by Marshall Gendron, the song proved to be a promising start for the then 20 year old musician. "Let Go" was also on the path to be selected as the 2015 Eurovision entry for Switzerland.

2021's "Falling Fast" (featuring cupcakKe) showcased more mature and dreamy songwriting for the young adult. The track quickly became a favorite among listeners, catching the attention of Paper Magazine. The song is also featured in Spotify-curated playlists.

The midwest raised performer can also carry a strong tune without the likes of name recognition. After "Tears" and its remixes were independently released, the "Bootleg Radio Edit" of the track has gone on to be Shazammed more than 50,000 times.

Vocal interpretation is an important part of singing and performing. Drake (TW) loves to pay respects to his muses and has covered songs by Lena, Loreen, Shania Twain, and even took a stab at covering the Britney Spears deep-cut "And Then We Kiss".

While his lyrical triumphs are self-penned, Drake knows how to bring out the best of his collaborators and teammates.

Interview with Drake Ramos

  1. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  2. A: Never be afraid about bringing your ideas to the table. We’re here to make something great together. Collaboration is a learning process and you gotta communicate

  3. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  4. A: MacBook, guitar (w/ capo), Gameboy color with Pokémon crystal. That’s 5?

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: My career path was a BA in business but I threw myself into my craft shortly after leaving school. it’s not easy following your heart but it makes the journey all that much greater. I’ve been writing and recording my own material for over 8 years now. I haven’t tipped the charts (yet) but I am happy with the quality of my work.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: I’d describe my style as pop because I do not limit myself to one genre. I’m not afraid of mixing country elements with dance songs either. That steel guitar just makes it all that more dreamy when you listen to just the instrumental.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: I would love to work with LeAnn Rimes. In a perfect world we would sing our hearts out together all while reinventing “Coyote Ugly”. I do say I’d love to work with the production team behind Cascada. They know how to make a sellable, and quality pop song.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Don’t be afraid of trying something new but also don’t be afraid of speaking up if you don’t like certain elements of the production.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: In the beginning I started singing on dance tracks but I have managed to make some really cool genre bending things on the side as well some 00s inspired tracks. My cover of “And Then We Kiss” is undoubtly a Britney song but I had a beat like “Cry for You” by September in my head. You can hear it in the drums and the “saw” synth used in the chorus.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: My strongest skill is communication. I know what I want to get out of a project and I believe I am good at working with my collaborators so we can turn out the best possible song.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: I bring strong vocals and confident word play to my songs. I’m not afraid to reach for the last note or write things that might make myself uncomfortable if a particular person heard it.

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: My songs are made in a variety of different ways. I normally have the chord structure and key in mind when I’m writing but sometimes producers give me instrumentals and I change the tune or rhythm of the lyrics I’ve already written.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: I don’t have my own studio but I am able to record at home with professional equipment and with the right acoustics. I operate using Logic and Adobe Audition.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: I was really inspired by country music growing, but I grew into loving all kinds music. I love good pop song. I’m inspired by artists like Cascada, Shania Twain, and even The Killers.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: I specialize in songwriting based on input from song ideas and unfinished works. I can also cut together vocals and tune them if need be.
