We bring the studio the artist to ensure that we capture the most comfortable and confident performances.
We provide artists with the opportunity to have their work recorded by professionals at a reasonable cost in the comfort of their own creative space. We believe this is the best recipe for producing unique high quality recordings at a cost other engineers and studios can not match.
Work is billed by the hour, and flexible depending on the work being done. Feel free to reach out and we can try to find a price that works for both parties.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Interview with House Call Recording
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First we touch base with the artist. It is important to be on the same page about the target for the vibe and sonics of the recording. From there we can talk logistics. "Where?" is the first question we ask. With a focus on mobility we can record where ever the artist is most comfortable or excited about performing. Expertise does also allow us to go into any studio space and run the session in a more controlled environment.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We have mix room/overdub space set up in an apartment in Marin County. Prefering to mix in Logic, semi hybrid. Usually mixing in the box with while summing and mix bus chain are analog. Sending out to a Neve 5057, then to a pair of Audioscape EQPA's before hitting an Audioscape COMP (SSL Bus Comp). If need be I can stay in the box using UAD, Plugin Alliance, & Sound Toys plugins.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most work we do is on location recording. Often the recording is for a live video performance to make sure that audio matches the quality of the video. We also will record live performances at venues so that we can mix the individual tracks from the source instead of having to mix a stereo feed from the board.
